Solitaire
Damn it, I downloaded the 2.3.2 update zip file and put it on my SD card. But trying to apply it produces an error with "Status 7" in it. Just like this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885477 - but for 2.3.1 to 2.3.2 . Some sort of file mismatch. Does this mean I have to go back to a stock boot ROM and then update from that? Wipe EVERYTHING? Start from scratch? Is there no other way to preserve stuff as it is right now (I mean all the files, apps, the settings, the homescreens and the launchers). Can I wipe the device then install titanium backup after rooting once again (on 2.3.2) to completely get my device back to the way it was before this mess? Or should I just avoid this entire hassle and skip the update? Edited January 27, 2011 by Gaurav - Solitaire
Superfrag
And that is why, you should flash a good custom ROM from the start. Seamless update. All I had to do was flash the latest MoDaCo r10 without wiping or anything. 10 minute job. Oh, and why can't you use Titanium Backup/My Backup Pro right now? Aren't you rooted? Backup all your apps and stuff, and flash a custom ROM. :/

But is this a final ROM or whatever (as in stable with no issues)?? Cos I see CM marked Alpha and I thought neither Modaco nor CM is fully ready. Also what advantages, in layman's terms does this give me if I flash Modaco (or if I go with CM) ? Anything I'll lose over stock?

Solitaire
Did you guys find HeyTell Application on Android Market? I didn't. Help! I didn't either. Looking at a thread about it on XDA it seems the app has popped up and disappeared and popped up again once before too. So try again later. You can get the apk file here - http://getandroidstuff.com/heytell-andorid-download-app-pushtotalk-pttt-3g4gwifi/ . Hope this ain't against the rules because the app is free anyway. Might as well just download the apk and install it if you want to give it a try.

MoDaCo never had any issues from day 1.. it was built on top of the stock ROM. Whatever issues it had, the stock ROM also had. What's the sense of flashing a ROM if you're going to lose features from stock? All ROM's GIVE you some features over stock, not take away. lol. CyanogenMod is the only unstable ROM right now, cause it's built directly from the AOSP code that Google gives out. It's kernels & drivers for specific phones are written by the CM team. All the other ROM's (except MIUI) use the stock ROM/build of the respective phone as their base. MIUI & CyanogenMod are built from ground up. There might be some other AOSP based ROM's I've not mentioned, but they're not that popular. That's why Google Apps has to be flashed separately ; since Google hit them with a C&D for including GApps with their AOSP build which is illegal. (GApps is not part of AOSP code) Wait till CM7 reaches RC stage, it has some small but very noticeable and great improvements over stock. I'm really busy with classes these days, so that's why I've stuck to MoDaCo, otherwise I would be flashing new CM nightly builds every day! Superfrag
Flash MoDaCo R10. CM RC isn't going to be out for a while. Go the the MoDaCo forums, you can even bake your own ROM's. In the sense, choose what you want & what you don't want. Edited January 28, 2011 by Superfrag

Cool, maybe make it to support twitter too so that we can have all the feeds on a nice widget.
