Solitaire
Anything above 4" is wayy too big IMO When I'm packing something bigger than this, my pants feel constricted and I can't sit down properly. People keep gesturing and talking about how big it is. It's how you use it that matters though. You know, the apps you put on it and such

Death Stryke
Guys, is there an easier way to auto mount my galaxy S by jus plugging in the USB and getting it into USB mass storage mode. Now, after i enable USB debugging (no idea why i need to do that to do a simple file transfer) i have to do too many cumbersome steps 1. Unlock screen 2. Swipe down notifications bar 3. Touch Select to copy/move files 4. In the next screen, touch mount. Wow! Any way to circumvent this? And of course, after i unplug it, I have to unmount from phone and then it auto starts the media scanning process. Incase I forget a file, i jus screw it and dont bother. Its just too many unnecessary steps. Or am I doing it wrong? Correct me then.

Superfrag
Atleast for the next 2 years it does matter plenty what they do even in America. Btw Superfrag any idea about what I can do with my N-S when I get to Atlanta? What kinda plan / sim card / whatever should I take? Only T-Mobile 3G will work. Spring and VZW are CDMA, and AT&T uses different bands. I'd suggest the Even More Plus plan, 500 minutes, weekend & nights free, unlimited data and unlimited text. You won't need UL text if you decide to use Google Voice. The EMP plan is not advertised on the site, but they'll give it to you in the store. Do use the coverage map, make sure your zip and places around the zip code are covered well. dicussion on modding/rooting allowed here????? Yup. You don't need to enable USB Debugging for File Transfer, that's absurd. As for auto mount, maybe Tasker or Locale can help you with that? Or there might be an app to go to USB Mass Storage Mode.. Yeah, that's why I asked, cos I knew it'd work only on T-Mobile and I was confused what would happen if the merger went through or whether T-Mobile is still selling new connections now. Will look into this plan. @DS Btw I was serious about what I said on the last page and I meant it about the phone only People keep saying "How do you carry around such a big phone" and it does kinda get difficult to put it into the pocket on a pair of tight jeans. I too feel 4 inch is pretty much the limit for a phone, and anything beyond that gets unwieldy. Death Stryke
Thanks guys. I think Shantz solution is the one i'm looking for as I dont want a wifi dependent solution alone. I dont mind plugging in the USB on and off, but the unecessary steps in between was the turn off. I tried awesomedrop, but it was somewhat slow. Will try wifiexplorer. This very same thread. I'll try to find it. Some of the apps are a bit of a waste though. I'll try and see what's installed on my phone and generate a list from that if I can. Anybody know if Titanium Backup can generate any kind of list? Yes, that's the link. @DS Shantz one will work but I don't think it will do all that well if you're using any Ad blocker. Solitaire
LauncherPro has been updated. 3d app drawer now works on the nexus S with 2.3.3 too @Spindoctor, the OP on this thread has a list of apps and my initial list of nonsense was on Page 171 And here's a list of some apps of my phone (in no way exhaustive) that I'm using right now to get you started. Understand some of them like the NFC reader and writer apps or BLN control might not work on your phone. Don't forget to buy Titanium Backup pro/donate. Awesome app that you really can't do without. I think it needs root though. Ad-Free probably needs root too. For security+remote wipe / location of a lost phone, you could use Lookout Mobile Security + Wheres my droid. Edit: You can use tasker like Shantz says, get it anyway even if you don't intend to use it for this particular use. However, I guess HTC Sense has something for that already. You know when you say use tasker, why don't you put in a link or a how-to with it instead of making us ask "How exactly?" Is this what you're saying btw? - http://androidforums.com/android-applications/226070-tasker-phone-security-profiles.html Edited April 6, 2011 by Gaurav - Solitaire

And I don't put in a "how exactly" with tasker because I assume you would know how to use google and tasker manual. If you don't know either of the two then it is best to not use it because you are going to mess up something.
