Ne0 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Share Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) @DS, from the rumors I've read so far, iphone 5 will not be a drastic change from iphone 4 looks wise (dual core proc, better camera etc). I think Apple should atleast introduce another line of mobile phones,maybe with a different form factor/appearence/price range. If they release the same stuff with minor upgrades here and there, it'll get old pretty fast. Atleast mac and ipods have some amount of variety. Still can't get as many Honeycomb icons as I'd like for the LauncherPro dock. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Shazam widget just won't work though. And neither will the leaked Honeycomb player APK. Damn. Apart from those two minor niggles, the ROM is pretty zippy.. no laggy stuff anywhere. Have to see how well the battery holds. Even on a screenshot PSN isn't spared Indeed problem with this was that I had a lot of Titanium Backup backups with password locks on them even though there was always an "unlocked" newer backup available. When I tried restoring everything at once, the stupid app tried would keep asking me for password every 3 or 4 apps and then even when I entered the right password, it would just keep asking for it all over again. It had happened before too while I was switching to Modaco, so this time around I went about individually restoring each and every app I wanted, making sure to remove every single old locked-backup I came across. Another thing was this SMS. Day before, I don't know what happened, but I tried force closing "Backup to Gmail" and ended up with ALL my SMSes deleted from the phone. No idea how that happened. My XML backup on the phone itself was from 16th April but Backup to Gmail itself has the latest backups stored safely in my gmail account. Now I must spend time restoring all those SMSes. The comparison is not fair. 3G(black/white), 3GS(black/white), 4(which does not have 4g btw) options out there. iPhone 4 white is coming soon. There are several options so its fair. Still, nothing is unfair for Apple as its because of their choice alone. Yeah that was the first couple of days. Then you realize that there's one quirk too many. The camera button is too much on the edge, the receiver is too high up and the forward and backward buttons are in reversed positions. Plus I crashed the beech like what...7 times? Unacceptable. Oh and the bloody curve at the back makes gripping it a pain. But the build quality is the best around. It isn't industrial like HTC in fact even though it's made of plastic, it doesn't feel like it much unlike the Galaxy S (which is what I meant by that). Apps are still unpolished and coming from the 3GS this feels like a downgrade when it isn't. Good thing eBay's got some win deals going down on the iPhone 4. Decision time! achilles Posted April 27, 2011 Report Share Posted April 27, 2011 If you have the 3GS right now, keep it for a bit. Get the 5. Similar chip to the iPad 2 in it will enable some killer games. Plus better battery atleast, and only a few months. Normally I don't suggest to wait but even with a deal the iPhone 4 comes off at a hefty price and it's not something you'll want to change soon unlike the BB or an Android.
