Solitaire
I think i said Opera Mobile 11 has no exit button. I hv tried Dolphin HD, SkyFire and Opera 11. I just love the interface of Opera 11, only issue is that the app looks too heavy and i hv to exit the browser thru task manager. Ooops missed that. I usually leave it to android to take care of the rest and press the return button like mad to get out of it.

I now started using Dolphin HD and liking it specially the gestures option.

prakhar
it's a good choice. if you can wait for a month or so, check out the htc sensation. these phones can't be rooted though. if that is important to you, look at the desire hd or desire z. what do you mean by ROOTED here? Nexus S or LG Optimus 2X. Don't bother with any other devices. I personally dont fathom LG. Nexus S is nice but is it better than HTC Incredible S . If yes why. Superfrag
It has better internal hardware, it's directly supported by Google so it'll get the latest software updates immediately, the SAMOLED screen is simply outstanding. Also, the community support for the Nexus S is brilliant as well. It's a no brainer really. The immediate software update itself should be the deciding factor. spindoctor
The nexus S sold in India doesn't have the SAMOLED screen though.
Superfrag
Ah yes, the SLCD screen is pretty poor in comparison. Also, the SLCD version is around 15 grams heavier and a bit thicker. It's easily noticeable..
spindoctor
Over on techenclave people are speculating that the galaxy S2 which will be sold in India might not have SAMOLED either. And it might be Tegra powered instead of using Exynos. That would be a kick in the nuts for anyone who is waiting for this phone.
Death Stryke
SGS owners, Darky has released the final v10.1 which has official 2.3.3 from Sammy. Performance wise is similar to most roms, dont expect a huge jump
theneurotoxin
^CM7 officially supports SGS now. You can run the latest version of Android (2.3.4) from this point in time onwards.
Superfrag
I tried MIUI last night. Mind BLOWN. Fantastic performance, combines the best of Android and iOS. Give it a try. It might not be good for everyone, but I love it. I even gave up my bottom status bar for it.. Even though this is based on CM7, the CM7 settings is missing completely.. so those settings won't be there.
_Hellsboy_
Nexus S or LG Optimus 2X. Don't bother with any other devices. Really. Why? Optimus 2 x has gotten some pretty bad reviews. Including comments like app crashes and slow, buggy software all around. The nexus s is a good choice. Bt as it is the indian version doesnt have super amoled. Also having used phones from many brands( including nexus s) i find htc to provide the best experience. Whether it is the soft touch plastic they use on their phones which makes them better to hold( you can add a cover to the nexus s but it will make the phone bulkier), or the lack of something as basic as a led for notification on other smartphones, or the fact that htc sense is easily the most smoothest and intuitive ui i have used apart from ios. Also htc arent exactly a sleuth when it comes to updates like lg or samsung. Imho one should choose the nexus s if that person wants to root their phone or take help of the dev communtiy. If you want a great android phone which is good in every aspect go for the incredible s. If you want to root however stay clear,it simply isnt allowed
Superfrag
It all depends on your usage. When I look at phones, I look at the community support first. If a phone doesn't have good community support, I don't consider it at all. I learnt this big lesson with the Vibrant, when the official updates kept getting delayed and delayed. If you are going to stick to stock, then yes, HTC phones are excellent. But Samsung has been fast with their updates ; the Galaxy S got Gingerbread first, before the Desire HD or Desire Z, or even the newly released Incredible S. I have a G2X in my hand, which will go to my friend soon ; I'm using it stock to get the feel of it, and I agree, the stock experience is not good at all. But usually I put a custom ROM like CyanogenMod or the likes, and I plan to do the same with the G2X. Its kind of insulting to see my wildfire touting friends sitting on android 2.2 while I can only dream of getting 2.2 on my galaxy 3 without rooting( which I cant do since there is no root out there specifically for gt-i5801). Androids customisablity already allows you to change practically everything without even using a custom rom. And if you dont want to use a custom rom then you would want the stock rom to be brilliant which htc has always provided. So yeah go for the nexus s IF you want custom roms and other rooting advantages. If you want to stick with stock, htc anyday .One of the biggest reasons for that is that htc ATLEAST get the basics of a good phone right( I just hate the cheap plasticy back of my samsung which makes it not good to hold at all)
spindoctor
in the realm of wild speculation, i've been reading murmurs that the next nexus phone will be built by lg and use tegra3 quad core tech.

prakhar
Hey guys i am getting HTC Incredible S in NOIDA for Rs25500. Is it the best price? Also want to confirm that, do HTC phones come in sealed packs. Or do the boxes simply have laminated or plastic covering. I mean the box only had the plastic covering, which wasnt torn from anywhere, but there wasnt a seal. I havent bought HTC ever,so therefore asking. I have got Sealed Blackberry, Nokia,Samsung,LG phones.
