Great phone. A friend of mine has it and swears by it.

Don't expect great battery life from Android handsets, however. Reducing screen brightness helps. And you may want to turn off data access, but then that would defeat the whole purpose of having an always-on device :|

Thanks mate :)

And yeah, couldn't agree with you more about turning data access off. But I do make it a point to turn it off during nights when I'm asleep. It saves me up to 8 hours battery backup :P

You could use tasker to do that :P I'm actually even planning to integrate one of those body bands some time with my phone to monitor my body state and then alter my phone's state according to that :P

I assume 'tasker' is an app :P

I'm still getting used to the whole idea of a smart phone

Also, can you enlighten me on the body band you are talking about.....seems like an interesting piece of hardware.

Also, Shantz, how much added memory do you use. My phone is currently on the 2 GB stock memory card. I want to know if memory affects performance of the phone. I don't watch a lot of videos or listen to music haven't even unwrapped the headphones yet But I do read a lot of ebooks. So, I was thinking of an 8 GB card. I'm hesitant about a 16GB card since I'm not sure about how it'll affect the performance of the phone.

^^ Bro how is the performance of the Moto Defy ? I mean Browsing, Gaming, touch response ?

I am still confused between Moto Defy OR Galaxy Ace :scratchchin:

I haven't played a single game on my phone yet. Been doing a lot of browsing. It's very good for browsing. Touch sensitivity is good too.....I can't compare it with the Ace since I haven't used it myself. And I felt that screen resolution is very important when it comes to choice of phone (Defy beats Ace hands down here). Add in the tougher features and hence I opted for the Defy. You might wanna ask for feedback from someone who has used the Ace to decide finally though.

EDIT: Just checked out a few reviews. Defy is a better phone than the Ace bro!

You use messaging? Or are you using something like GoSMS Pro (has a folder view which IIRC doesn't change if you close and open it)

I tried out the galaxy SII at a local shopping mall here, and the impressions are mixed. The phone is very slim and lightweight which is very impressive. and the screen looks gorgeous. But some issues:

1. Touch screen is still not as smooth as in apple devices. I had to tap multiple times for some of the stuff. Also, there was no landscape kb option when you hold the phone horizontally. I tried composing a email and an SMS, both times, the keyboard did not tilt to landscape mode. I don't know if this has got to do with any settings.

2. The phone is way too big. Just not possible to carry in your pocket. You need a mobile phone holder all the time.

I think it was a good decision to not believe the hype and jump on the bandwagon. I might wait for some more time before I upgrade to android :(

It's the stock firmware flash with a custom and you will see the difference , in regards to landscape mode the auto rotate might be disabled I have used this phone since a friend of money got one and I must say the screen is 10 times better than iPhone 4 even a sgs screen is 5 times better

^^ Hmmm, maybe the fitting in jeans part is subjective :P I for one can't imagine that in my pocket when in a sitting position and I'm a bit paranoid to keep it in my shirt pocket !

But touch screen part, I could feel a slight lag compared to my ipad2 or the ipod touch which I've used from some of my friend's.

There really is no difference in touch sensitivity. However, the fitting in jeans thing is certainly subjective.
