Looks like Google might also have a voice assistant in the works: http://androidandme.com/2011/10/news/googles-response-to-siri-might-look-something-like-this/

BTW, there is something siri-esque on the android market already:

^^isn't there already numerous of voice assistant apps for android? vlingo?

I tried Vlingo, it was pretty good with voice recognition compared to another recently released app called Text by Voice for Android. The latter wouldn't recognize most Indian names.

They (includign vlingo) are not NLP based.

Anyone here owns Xperia neo V? impressions? there isn't a single review for this device. So, just wanna know. MRP is 17.5k, can I get on street @ lower price? I am tired of waiting for galaxy W I don't think it'll ever release and my current phone (omniapro) will torture me to death if I don't buy any decent phone sooner :|

btw, how come sony have changed? they used to over-price every model they create.

My sister is using the Neo, its the one with 8MP, the camera on the Neo V is 5mp.

Its a decent android, snappy enough, the Sony launcher works ok for her, she did try Go Launcher on it for a couple of days but she didn't like it.

The same processor also powers the Xperia Arc

I know that man. I want a user impression/review of neo V as its quite reasonably price by the company who never does that.

EDIT: how much did that neo cost? MRP is 20k+

Geez ! A phone is a phone. It'll still let you dial numbers & send SMSs.

It lets me dial any number yes but you know what when someone miscalls me for a very short time it says 'unknown' coz it is too dumb to capture a short miscall. I want to SMS someone, first I have to wait for like 5-10 seconds for the msg box to open then wait for next 5 secs to open the 'write' msg and then same for every other basic stuff and after successfully messaging someone I get 3 msg to myself. First is 'message sent' second is 'delivery report' and then it rings again which only god and samsung knows for what, so I don't text anyone now unless its absolutely necessary.

Also, if I want to capture a picture well it takes first picture very fine and camera is very good no doubt but it hangs after every photo for literally more than 2 minutes! and I can't even update it to 6.5 as it always gives me the msg 'no updates available' or in other words 'you're screwed' and don't even get me started on software supportability and games. FFS, My N79 was 10 times smarter than this so called smartphone.
