Is it free? And is there a noob guides to rooting or something ? I dont want to brick my phone..

Free = Yup.

The rooting procedure depends on your phone. Which one do you have?

MIUI has OTA updates, doesn't it?

Yup

Some screenshots from the "Leather" theme on MIUI

^^How is the battery life with MIUI? Better than stock ROM?

Hard to say right now. I'm facing a weird bug where my battery meter keeps draining even thought the phone is on charge (and the phone shows that its being charged). There is some app or process thats constantly running as my phone is quite warm to the touch.

Oh ok, thanks. That's maybe because of the weekly builds? Try the stable build..

Its one particular rogue app/process. A quick close of all apps from the task manager solves the issue.

I prefer the weekly since its built using the later version of MIUI (1.10) compared to the stable build (1.9).

However MIUI is still based on Android 2.3.5 compared to CM7.1 which is based on 2.3.7. Not a major difference in feature set, though.

Hey guys,

I'm facing a weird issue. I upgraded from Eclairs to Froyo (OFW) on my Defy. I did a general moto backup before doing the process. And once the process was completed, I did the moto restore. But once everything was complete, I found that there were almost no contacts in my contact list (blue button on lower right corner). The only ones that were left were those in my Gtalk (which I had added as soon as the fresh install). I feared the contacts had been wiped out. But as it turns out, the contacts are accessible under the green call button (lower left of the screen), under 'contacts'. But when I try to text or press the contacts search button, none of them show up. How do I fix this? And what could've caused it? Anyone?

^^ I think there should be a option in Contact app to show ALL Contacts instead of the contacts saved in System.

Contact> Display Option> Gmail> All other contacts (how it works for me)

Thanks mate, didn't exactly solve the issue, but I got the idea at least. Had to import all contacts from SD and SIM to solve it lol :lol:
