So 3-4 months is just too much. How will the experience of ICS vary between Nexus S and Nexus Prime? And can we expect a price drop in Galaxy S2 when Nexus Prime launches?

I think Galaxy S2 has everything that I need in a phone, 4 inch screen, 1.4 Ghz dual core processor, 8 MP cam at full HD video recording, 16 GB memory, Super AMOLED scree. I mean what more can Nexus Prime provide? 12 MP cam? 960x500 display?

Haven't been on the internet much have you?

5mp, 1080p cam. 1280x720p SAMOLED screen 4.65inch. And the keyword is ICS.

Samsung Galaxy S II Ice Cream Sandwich Update in Jan 2012

Update in jan 2012

Gaurav Hasabnis, an industry analyst and contributing editor of Fonearena.com posted on Twitter: "Something gonna come in Jan 2012. #sgs2 users gonna rejoice!", followed by a second tweet: "Soon Mali400 gonna be in full use."The mentioned Mali 400 is the name of the GPU on the Samsung Galaxy S II. Rumors states Ice Cream Sandwich will utilize the the full potential of high-end smartphones better than previous Android OS, which leads us to believe that the ICS will be making its way to the Galaxy S2.

Wait what? 720p SCREEN? Holy sh*t thats awesome. But if ICS is coming to Galaxy S2 in Jan 2012, I would go for it instead of Nexus. 8 MP cam is great and an upgrade from my N82 which already has a great 5 mp cam with dual LED flash. Also 4.65 inch screen size seems to large. Galaxy S2 seems just about the right size.

ICS is big.

All companies will put all their devs to finish tweaking it for their phones as fast as possible as in the end it may be a very big advantage to who offers ICS first .\

@ambar S2 is 1.2 ghz dual core , not 1.4 ghz dual core.

Don't go by MP alone  I used an N79 before I shifted to the Nexus S and I still miss the dual LED flash. Your N82 has a Xenon flash. No 8mp camera with a single LED flash is gonna come close to an N82's performance in low light. Though they really should have put an 8mp cam in the Galaxy Nexus, it's not a deal-breaker by any means unless you're gonna print huge posters to drape the side of a building with or something. 1. Stop being so objective with mega-pixel. 2. Stop comparing the S60 N82 and your next phone, there'll be things you can do better and a few you may not be able to do as well with your next phone. So don't try to compare the two too much.

As for size, the it's not much larger than the S2 because the bezel is a bit thinner to accommodate the larger curved screen.

And with regard to ICS, you're still gonna get the latest updates on the Nexus line as and when there's any incremental bugfix or other update. However with other manufacturers' phones, that too will take a bit of time. And there is no guarantee whatsoever that a successor to ICS can be installed on a non-Nexus phone (google however has announced their intention to put ICS on the Nexus S soon after the Galaxy Nexus, though I'm not sure about the Nexus one). This of course is a non-issue if you have a ton of money and don't mind changing phones every year.

Last but not the least, don't go by ANALyst estimates much. They do tend to be wrong a lot too.

Oh I forgot my N82 had Xenon flash. Its 5 MP cam is kickass. I dont want to downgrade the camera in my next phone. And:

You mean Nexus S wont get ICS at the same time as Nexus Prime? Oh snap then this removes Nexus S out of the equation.

NO phone will get ICS at the same time as the Galaxy Nexus (stop saying Nexus Prime :giggle: ) . Your S2 idea is even worse in that respect. The Nexus S will get ICS really quick, probably within a month at max. Besides every other phone will take far more time for the same and won't keep getting updates as soon as the Galaxy Nexus or Nexus S or One.

Hey guys. Planning to buy a new Android Phone for myself. Im in no hurry so Im willing to wait for anything new thats about to launch. Im looking at the top model possible at the time of purchase and preferably a touch screen one. Any suggestions? Is there any model that I should wait for particularly?

Yeah I had Galaxy S2 in mind. But then I thought its been out in the market for a while now and surely a new phone must be on the verge of launching? So wouldnt it be preferable to wait? Im in no rush, so any idea if any model is on the way which will be better than S2, in the next 2-3 months?

If newness matters to you, U cant go wrong with either the Moto Razr or the Galaxy Nexus. But when either launch here is the question

Newness matters to me right now because Im willing to shell out money, I dont want to pay 30k and buy a phone and a week later a new phone comes out for 35k, which has better features - marginally or otherwise. Thats why Id prefer to wait for a new one if ts on the horizon. Ofcourse, quality also matters.

I think Ill do my research on Moto Razr and Galaxy Nexus now.

Guys tell me a good site which reviews Android phones. I am looking for a review of this:

Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V: http://www.flipkart.com/mobiles/sony-ericsson/itmd2krpeuhn7nth?pid=mobd2pyzdkcheyaf&_l=h0ZY83FeG_2K9+q15YpNjQ--&_r=MhwO9zdzBNF93DkyjBD43g--&ref=cd8964e8-145e-4fba-8e64-03fd85221528

Looks pretty solid specs wise, even has 1500 mah battery. Only downside is 512 Mb RAM.

Well, thats an issue(?) with Android. A newer better phone is always on the horizon. With ICS out, m sure by Jan-Feb new models will be out by all makers. But that shouldn't deter u from buying any of the phones i mentioned. They're all good and will be top tier phones for a while.

this is also a reason why many people prefer iPhones because they are new atleast for a year and u know till when it will be top end. Some ridicule this as mere vanity, but then different people, different viewpoints

So Nexus Prime, Galaxy Nexus and Razr(?) is what Im going to go through now, then.

Nexus Prime= Galaxy Nexus. I am fixated on Galaxy S2 for now, as 5 MP cam in Galaxy Nexus is a turn off. But 720p display :majesty:
