its 512mb ram btw

The earlier Blade/XCD35 had 512MB RAM but now its 256MB (I hope so that it turns out to be 512 in reality :) ) . The ROM size is 512MB though.

!dea has come up with their own version of the xcd35.... i think it's cheaper(if your on !dea) just thought you might wanna know....

Yeah but the price is in the same range as the phone sells in the market for. And I'd rather have a phone with "Dell" embossed at the back than "Idea" :D

^^ Is the market price of xcd35 16k? (http://www.priceindia.net/mobile/dell-mobiles/dell-xcd35-price/) Then i will advice u to get Moto Defy+. You can upgrade to Android 2.2 too.

Market price is around 8k so Defy+ is twice as costly.

Yeah, even performance wise, the Dell/ZTE is your best option. Later models have 256MB, but firmware locked. You can unlock the full RAM with a bit of fiddling. Why they did so, is a complete mystery.

Okay, that is a done deal then :)

And I'll check into the RAM locking issue. If I can unlock it, then super wow.

Stick to CM7 or MIUI. Although CM7 will give you better battery life, and now it has Voodoo modifications integrated.

If the phone is working on Indian carriers without any issues, it's already unlocked. No need to worry about it again.

Just remember to follow the instructions to the letter, and you'll be fine. :)

Thanks , I heard not many people are happy with CM7 or MIUI , also Simple Honey does it gives a better battery life ? The tutorials on xda are horrible they assume everything

I can't find the Simple Honey ROM thread in the 1st 2 pages of the Vibrant Dev Section.

My recommendation is to flash CM7.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297792) and stick with it till a stable release of ICS is out.

A friend of mine who has a Vibrant, (which I sold to him, with CM7 flashed) is very happy with his phone. MIUI is also good, but it's known to drain the battery at a much faster rate.

Alternatively, you can try and flash the latest nightly, but it won't be as stable or might not give you the best battery life.

I would suggest sticking with the stock CM7 kernel. Or you can try alternative kernels such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1304037 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1181167

You should be able to change the speeds in Settings, under CyanogenMod settings menu. Stick to stock speeds, or bump up to 1.2Ghz if you want. Don't go any further. Also, no need to install any CPU tuning app from the market.

Why not go for Galaxy Y, piper? It has 830 Mhz processor and Gingerbread 2.3.

XCD35 is better in terms of screen resolution and even camera. And I can flash the CM7 (for ZTE blade) and updated to 2.3.

Honestly, Galaxy Y has really really bad screen res. My previous phone (I5801) had the same screen and it's not pretty.

Thanks for pointing to correct thread there were just too many CM threads so could not figure out which one , also how to apply the kernels the thread just dont mention anything they just say "If you don't know how to flash then this is not for you. " which for me is WTF if you are not going to tell it how would someone do it.

Okay. I played around with the Note and man that thing is big. (That's not what she said :threatenlumber: )

Aside from the usual 'not keeping up with me' touch response that plagues all Android devices (though it was pretty less in this) that thing is fast. Especially the browser. I was pretty impressed.

Samsung Note is one awesome phone. I love that screen..

My :kisstogether: recently bought it and I played around with it.. It is big and fantastic.. Surely a great phone for guys.

For flashing the kernel, you boot into the recovery. Wipe Dalvik-Cache (not necessary though), and just choose the zip and flash it. In case of that Bali kernel, you'll have to flash two .zip files, first the kernel cleanup file, and the actual kernel itself.

F**K F**K FOOOK. I got Galaxy S2 I9100G instead of I9100. Should I sell it off? This sucks man, I never knew about such differences. No custom ROMs for it :(

Is I9100 out of stock in India?
