i liked the joke

I think a lot of people who have bought it recently would have 'G'.

lets scroll back on the WYBTW thread to track, I can remember Megs, but I really do not think she would know or care about this, just a general assumption as she is a girl.

^^ She's got the Exynos version.

^How you know that? :naughty: Wait a minute, did you just get a Galaxy NOTE? :panic:

So with you guys with OMAP versions of the S2, what's your primary concern - the GPU being slightly gimped for gaming compared to the Mali, or is it the lack of custom ROMs that worries you more?

Just wanted to know how :furious: they were about the small difference in gaming graphics capability.

It doesn't matter actually. the current crop of games do not exhibit any differences on the two chipsets. Its only Chainfire 3D where the lack of the highest AA setting makes the difference relevant.

The point is that we got inferior version for same price.

I don't disagree, but if you read my last post a few pages back about the Samsung-Apple-store comparioson, what I'm saying is if you paid for the I9100G (which is what it says on the box) or if the difference is NOT explicitly mentioned on the box (i.e. they don't say it's an Exynos inside, they just mention the clock rate) then I don't think there's anything you can really take them to court on. I guess it depends more on the brick-n-mortar store owner being amenable and ready to procure a replacement.

In other news, I'm still waiting for (kola)Veri-zon to put a final date on and ship the bloody G-Nex

Well avkash, what did your store say? Really ICS is the only worry. Else better battery life, no yellow tint (all I9100s have yellow tint thanks to warmer color temperature, compare your phone to theirs and see, it looks odd), no color branding and latest Gingerbread 2.3.4 are good points. I can live with 4xAA on chainfire 3D and lack of custom ROMs. I wasn't going to root the device until the ICS update anyway.

Only thing doubtful and truly is the con is ICS update. I think I will wait. If there is no ICS, I will sell this phone.

Well that yellow tint issue on the left side of the screen is not in all, but the yellowish color tint is present in all I9100s. You wont realize it that much, but put it in front of I9100G or a Nexus S, and its quite apparent. It almost looks like its yellow due to dust.

Like I said earlier I have seen a friend's S2 with a yellow tint issue and mine is as white as milk. Am I'm comparing to my iPhone 4.

Hmmm, maybe both my friends are unfortunate to have that yellow tint. It looks yucky.

Also, try this and confirm:

Simplest way to test it is, open the "NEXUS" Live Wallpaper, on your friend's i9100 and do the same on yours. Compare them and Follow it up by launching angry birds on both and observe the blue sky on both. Notice the intolerable amounts of Colour banding on the i9100? It cant be fixed as it's a hardware property of the Mali.

I want to know whether this is linked to yellow tint.
