^Also Pentile display.

Amazing how confusing it'll be for spec-whores. One 1 hand, the One X has the superior display (resolution and being non-pentile), but the One S has the superior chipset offering better battery life

For 99% buyers though, the only thing that'll matter is cost difference and size.

One XL for the spec-whores :P

In hindsight, I would feel more comfortable with a Tegra chipset than any other. It's almost certain that every app and game released for Android will support Tegra at launch, which cannot be said for other hardware such as Exynos / Krait / Omap, etc. There is plenty of empirical evidence to back this up. Nvidia has been throwing quite a bit of marketing and development dough at developers to get them on board with Tegra. Google has even hinted that the Transformer Orime (Tegra 3) is their reference platform for ICS on tablets and with the Omap 44xx in the Nexus being outdated, it's safe to assume that Tegra 3 will gain the majority of support from Google and the devs.

I have decided that my next Android purchase will be a Tegra 3 barring some mind blowing spec sheet on the SIII

There are lot of other factors to consider. QCOM now has Snapdragon game command vs Nvidia's tegra zone with lot more games. It is also collaborating with a lot of game devs and now even has an in-house game studio. QCOM also sells reference hw to devs (MDP) which Nvidia doesn't. QCOM is also releasing a lot of drivers to community directly now to engage them.

The other fact is that quad core really is overkill as of now and for near future, and T3's A9 arch pegs it down further. If I were you, I'd instead wait for the next krait with adreno 3xx instead of anything else since the only thing that can compete with krait now is A15 implementations from TI/Samsung, both of which won't come before next year.

First, :rofl:

Second, shouldn't the OS abstract the hardware?

It does. But it also allows game devs to talk to the hardware directly to take advantage of special features of particular hw.

Wow, nice buy Vicky. The one X is a looker no doubt, especially the white one. 35k is a damn good deal! congrats! For that display, at that price, super! Considering the One S isn't even launching in most markets, the decision making step is avoided. But I wish someone did 720p at 4.3".

@Rushabh,

Rumors are pretty confusing for the Sgs3, most are saying quad q9 and a15 may debut with the ipad 3 resolution beating samsung tab. From what anand says about a15, i dont think the manufacturing process is there yet, especially for the volumes samsung will require considering they are doing a global launch. Pretty sure they are already stockpiling the device by now. Though lets see if Samsung pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

Next year = new purchases :P

Seriously, we have just begun Q2 2012. Who the hell is gonna wait till next year, especially with droolworthy hardware like the One X already available. That is one fantastic looking device, IMO, the best looking phone currently available along with the Nokia N9.

Theoretically yes, but hardware that's powerful enough will yield performance benefits. The iPhone 4S is physically identical to the iPhone 4 and runs the exact same software at the exact same resolution. Yet there is a tangible performance difference between the 4S and 4, all of which is down to superior hardware. It's the same story on Android, made even more absolute by the myriad of screen resolutions and OEM bloatware.

Not at all. It my burgeoning gizmo closet that's giving me pause to consider.

I can relate.. Not that I can come close to the amount of gadgets you own or the money you spent but most of the items you do not end up using. Example in my case being DFGT after gt5, kinect, move , wii, psp

.etc.. lol
