Ok so I'm in trouble,

the phone promoted me that a firmware is available so I gladly did an OTA update, and ever since the phone has been in a boot-loop. FML.

I realized that the time has come for a ROM flash but I am on Mac and Odin does not seem to work on it, I did get a Windows to Mac converted version though but it is not recognizing my phone (the ID:ROM column remains blank)

I tried Heimdall for Mac as well but it kept giving strange errors when I tried to detect the phone.

Is there any other way to do it on Mac or would I have to Reluctantly, with a capital R, have to install Windows on my Mac ?

Or should I just take it to the service center, but I fear that they may break more stuff than repair such a simple thing :fear:

^YOU MUST read the posts in this topic more carefully. I already reported several I9100Gs going into Bootloop after installing latest FW.

Only option is to goto Samsung Care, as Odin wont detect it on Windows. Supersim here got the same problem, and IIRC he got it fixed from Samsung.

And :ha: at using Mac.

yup I got the same problem . Was updating using crappy hostel wifi , the phone got stuck on bootloop. Gave it to service centre , they resolved the problem , of course all data (apps, settings, all) was wiped from phone .

After getting it back from service centre , updated the phone again this time using home wifi , fortunately it went good ( i was scared as hell updating it again :P)

Lesson learnt - use a reliable internet connection while updating.

well mine did update, without an issue, it applied the update then restarted, all was well, but it never went beyond the samsung screen. <_<

Also the apps would still be in my Google Account list, so I can re-download, right ?

What exactly do you guys mean when you say that this extension isnt trustworthy? Is it because it was developed by a third party and not by google? :scratchchin:
