ICS not yet out for S2 rite... ??

Some peepz using the following method: Is it safe?

How to change CSC on samsung Galaxy s2 (GT-19100) (India)

1) Just type *#272*Device IMEI number# at phone dial pad. (to get imei numbr, type *#06# on your mobile)

2) Select CSC where ics is avilable ( I selected NPL)

3) Click Install

4) Phone will be rebooted by itself. (The phone will be formatted by it, so dont forget to backup your data)

5) Once the phone has restarted, just connect it to pc via kies, and it should show you or ask you to update.

6) Thats all, when you update to ics, again change the csc code to INU thats India.

(Not sure if it works on gs2 GT-19100G, but sure it works on GT-19100.)

I tried the One X sometime back..Brilliant phone..so much better than the crap SGS I used to have. But it's just too big for me.

I wish the One S had the display of the one x. One S is decently sized for me. God knows when they will launch though

kal leta hu

The shopkeeper got so pissed off with me  ...had called him few times regarding s2 and hox..bolta hai "aapko lena hai ke nai,jab dekho phone karke bas questions, zyada aur boliyega toh price increase kar doonga " : p

finally fri night asked him to keep the black hox for me..and now tomorrow i will go and tell him i want the white one

Not rooted. and never intend to do eva... :fear:

Why not? By not rooting you are missing out on lot of things uour s2 can do.

But if you don't i don't see a problem with above should be fine

Root using CF Root, take NANDroid backup from Recovery, and flash an ICS based ROM. The stock ICS from Samsung is sh*t anyway.

Unless you have rooted, you are not using complete features of Android.

Don't agree - Touchwiz is pretty good. It's fast - really really fast. I've forgotten how many roms I've been through and I always come back to TW.

I suggest try Resurrection Remix ROM first. I am a n00b too :P I installed only one ROM and rooted few days back.

First, root via CF Root.

Take a Backup of your system by CWM recovery (I missed this part :( )

Then, download the Resurrection Remix 1.8.1 package from XDA.

Then, keep that package on your internal storage.

Use CWM recovery application to boot into CWM recovery.

Then install the ROM by using CWM menu.

It is very easy really.

I am not finding any speed difference between my ICS ROM and TW. I was fed up with look of TW, especially the menu. This ROM has some nifty options. Though a better thing to do is ROOT, and install themes and custom animations on stock firmware, instead of installing a custom ROM if you like TW that much.

Without rooting, you are missing a lot, and I came to know this once rooted.
