Not exactly, one x also has a similar mrp with street price of 38k at launch i thing samsung being much stronger then htc in markwt share can demand a 1k premium plus s3 is better then one x in everything ecxept the build.

My only concern samsung like apple is not decreasing the prices as regularly as another so tgis price might stay for 6 odd months.

^Frankly Samsung doesn't need to. its got such a stronghold of the android maket right now it can afford to charge a premium pricing. This thing will sell at 37-38k definitely. Will steal all potential one X buyers. I will be shocked if the S3 fails to sell well in India, price notwithstanding.

Dollar at 56 aint helping either. I doubt price will fall below 35k anytime soon

So iphone 4s sells at 45k, and people throng to buy it... but S3 sells at 38k and there's so much of hatred at the price? I feel for this config, 38k is justified... agreed, plasticky feel and all, but if s3 is anything like my note, it's a dream phone.

Flipkart has listed it for 39k. Street dealers in Mumbai selling for 38k. So yea 43k is just stupid MRP. Still, 38k is too much to spend on a phone..any phone.

I agree. I think I'm done with these 'flagship' phones if this is how they're gonna play the market.

Edit: Also what good is a 40K phone with multiple cores and a fancy GPU if your battery life isn't up to par? I've learnt a good lesson with the S2.

It's a known fact guys.... There isn't any 4" screen next Gen. smartphones that save battery and give extra hrs. for all your pleasures. We have to deal with it... The Bigger the screen/Display your phone's battery has to face that much challenge.

Especially the lovers of Samsung/HTC sets since the days of Galaxy & Desire..... Battery has always been a concern but eventually the features/design overshadows it.

My note's battery easily lasts me one and a half days.... Wifi, bluetooth and gps always on. Screen brightness in auto, and once 3-4 hours i use the task manager to clear out running apps.

for a screen which is 5 inches odd, i am pretty satisfied :D

I don't think people lined up to buy the 4S in India at that price anywhere. Everyone was unpleasantly surprised when it launched at that price. In fact, S3 would still sell much more than 4S did in India.

Fact is >30k is bad for any smartphone in India, be it from Apple or HTC or Samsung. People have slightly come to terms with >30k over last couple of years but now >35k is the new trend for premium phones which will take some time for people to get used to.

The HOX's camera is better too.

Guys is the multitasking fixed in One X? My friend wants to buy S3 or One X. But he is kinda miffed at Multitasking aspect.

Nope. Not on stock roms. Works fine with custom roms though.

Practically speaking, I havent had too much of an irritation with the multitasking process on the HOX. It's flawed but is not unworkable.

Pity the fools who paid 2000 to preorder based on no other information on actual price. Also, non refundable. Disgusting tactics by Samsung really. Whats the point of announcing MRP at 43k and selling at 42.5k to people who preordered and then...a week from now when availability becomes widespread, price falls to 37k. Already flipkart has listed it at that price.

Meh! But then, this is the defacto flagship. I'd give this the edge only because it seems to have a good battery life. lot better than HOX. Everything else is more or less same.

What if you are watching a video on youtube, and suddenly you need to take a pic so launch the camera, take the pic and save it, and then when going back to browser/app, you find that it was closed and need to load video again? Does it work like that? Or it kills apps only once a while?

Have not used onex camera but s3 did click some brilliant pics in daylight...hox might be better if you say but i would say if it is, then probably just marginally better.

Well I haven't used S3, used One X for a while, but *ahem* the reviews suggest that Galaxy S3 camera is better than One X. At least the video recording part is much better, much smoother videos than One X.

One X beats S3 only and ONLY in looks, nothing else, and that too is subjective. S3 is CLEAR winner among performance, battery life, camera and music.
