One thing doesnt make sense, when i want to set reminders, and it asks me when i want to be reminded, why does the GNex show a screen? That is not the right move. It should ask in voice further right.

Otherwise, I am not sure of "blowing" it away as Siri did everything as well, but it certainly did while it searched for photos of the dog. I was expecting something on the lines of siri not working at all

Lol, I never tried setting an alarm..... that works too wow! If they bring in actions like switching wifi off and on among other device settings (which is already hinted at with the 'yet' in my last post) then it will indeed be unbelievably more awesome!

Today'll be my first test of battery with this phone. Not gonna be too much of a test considering I blow through battery with Whatsapp anyway during the first half of the day

Something weird in JB. Until ICS, the 'direct dial' widget (I had one for 911 / my Georgia Tech Police Department) on my homescreen would directly dial folks with one press.

Now the direct dial widget in JB actually takes you to the phone screen with that number entered but stops short of dialing that number. Weird.

Hope you never had to use that though a couple of my friends got mugged and one was almost killed by a thug mellow.gif

Something is wrong with my S2.

Every 30 seconds or so, I get a pop up saying "Charging Paused. Voltage too high", but I am not charging the phone. In fact, it is not even connected to the charger.

Any suggestions on this?

seems like a pretty common bug on ICS 4.0.3 ...nothing wrong with the phone :D

just to confirm you are on stock right?

It got pressed a few times in my pocket while I was in Las Vegas :P And GT PD made a point of calling back immediately each time to make sure that I was alright. Nice people. Well, Georgia Tech, in the middle of Atlanta, is surrounded by a high crime zone (too many black people with guns, it's Atlanta after all). I've been careful (to the extent of being overly paranoid) so I haven't ever had issues but muggings and home invasions happen aplenty around there.

I don't know why they'd change direct dial's functionality though. Adding one step doesn't really help in emergencies. I don't know if it's a bug or an intentional change.

Ok, an update on the Nexus 7 Phone/Tablet UI situation.

Like Shantanugoel said, Android adapts depending on DPI and screen estate, and that's exactly what is happening here. GMail, Calendar, Plume all run in their tablet UI form, whereas GTalk runs in the phone form.

Each app adapts accordingly.

Also, Death Stryke, the Xoom is getting JB update along with the Nexus S and GNex, so you have JB running on all the popular screen resolution and sizes, 4" 800*480, 4.65" 1280*720, 7" 1280*800 and 10.1" 1280*800. As such, apps adapt accordingly for all the sizes, there are even differences between apps on the Nexus S and GNexus, although it's very minute.

Impressed with the Nexus 7 so far, great screen and build, easy and light to hold. It even fits in my pocket, which is a huge plus, from a portability point of view. Haven't tested the battery yet.

Also, it's extremely smooth, I guess the combination of the T30L and 4.1 is to thank for that. No slowdowns at all, even multitasking is instantaneous. It's been extremely stable as well, so far.

My main GNexus is still running AOKP build 40, (ICS) and the I/O GNexus is running JB, and I intend to keep it that way for the next 2-3 weeks in order to properly compare the two. But the improvements in performance is extremely noticeable. The improved animations help a lot too.
