Hmm.. will try tough words but it's UP guys. I have had a couple of rogue instances with my friend's lappy and my previous phone's servicing, so wanna tread with caution.

Samsung being a huge company, must be using multiple servicing agencies for it's A S S. Any idea which one(s) is/are good ?

Forgot to post this one (read it a few days ago).

So Google decided that Nexus Q in its current form is not a very marketable device. While they redo some of the design/manufacturing, they have decided that those who'd put enough faith in the device to pre-order it, would be getting theirs for free. Yes, free.

“We have an important update about your Nexus Q pre-order.

When we announced Nexus Q at Google I/O, we gave away devices to attendees for an early preview. The industrial design and hardware were met with great enthusiasm. We also heard initial feedback from users that they want Nexus Q to do even more than it does today. In response, we have decided to postpone the consumer launch of Nexus Q while we work on making it even better.

To thank you for your early interest, we’d like to extend the Nexus Q preview to our pre-order customers and send you a free device. If you had other items in your order, your credit card will be charged for those items only.

Your Nexus Q will be on its way soon and you will receive a notification and tracking number from Google Play when it ships.

The Nexus Q Team”

Now this kind of news I like.

Haha, my thoughts exactly when I read this a few days ago. But buying it was a gamble, and only the most dedicated of Googlers would have gone and pre-ordered.

Oh btw, unrelated but Google-related. They've gone and turned my university campus, Georgia Tech, into some kind of Google-themed campus trying to emulate Google's office for the filming of "The Internship" starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.

^Paid apps do make money, but for that you have to make your app popular (free version with limitations, paid version no limitations).

Another way is to have a free version with ads, and a paid version without ads. AFAIK, a decent amount of money comes from the ads alone.

I remember Koush had developed an app from which he later removed the ads as he felt they were ruining the experience. And he mentioned that he had been earning $5000 monthly from that app (due to ads). Now that is a very very good amount for a single developer built app.

^^ $5000 p/m is awesome .... my day job doesn't earn me that much .... can you link me to this guy - koush ? His IVG id / email id, anything u know of ? and what was the app he made ?

I was referring to Koush = Koushik Dutta . Not on IVG, but you can tag his G+ account and get in touch with him there. Or on XDA.

He is the developer of Clockworkmod recovery, and for that alone he has the blessings of millions of Android users.

This weekend we tweeted about Android 4.1 updates for the Galaxy S II, Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II.

Let us explain what Samsung will do and how far they are at the moment.

Galaxy S III

The test firmwares for the Galaxy S III are passed and they are working on a public version of the first Jelly Bean updates for the Galaxy S III.

The wait is on the public version and the agreement of Google.

Galaxy S II

Samsung is still testing Android 4.1 for the Galaxy S II. The first tests are looking fine. Because the Galaxy S II is still selling very well and Samsung will update the Galaxy S II to Android 4.1.

If Samsung decides at the last moment not to update the Galaxy S II, all Galaxy S II owners will get avalue pack update. But so far there is no reason not to update the Galaxy S II to Android 4.1.

Galaxy Note

For the Galaxy Note it is the same story as for the Galaxy S II.

Tests are fine but there is still no official words by Samsung.

Galaxy Note II

The Samsung Galaxy Note II would be showed at IFA 2012. The test software is currently based on Android 4.0. Our insider isn’t sure if Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Note II with Android 4.0 or Android 4.1.

If Samsung decides to use Android 4.0 at launch, an update to the Galaxy Note will be available a couple of months after.
