piper
So when I flashed CM10 on my Note and later tried flashing the PA (CM9) zip file, I got an update script error. So basic question, if I flash any CM10 based ROM and later wish to go back to CM9, what are the safe and quick steps? Should I flash a 'safe' kernel first, reboot recovery and then proceed? Or are there some other steps?
MarketTantrik
Nice. I'd also prefer not to much around really. Rather use the damn phone instead. Was forced to do it with the SGS because it was a a complete POS phone I have to admit that the Nexus is the first Android phone I've purchased where I didnt have to muck around with customs stuff. With JB, the stock ROM is fantastic enough for me.
Superfrag
Trinity is the better kernel for GNexus, he has enabled a lot of options, whereas with Franco's kernel, you need to buy his $3.80 app to enable options. Currently running Bugless Beast, which is almost stock, extremely few changes such as extended power menu (reboot to recovery and all that). Can't live without custom kernels though, better SQ, ability to charge from USB at full speed, and most importantly, tuning the screen color reproduction. Best ROM right now for GNexus is Vanir AOSP, CM10 based ROMs are buggy and right now there is a certain performance problem associated with those ROMs. Edited August 7, 2012 by Superfrag
Death Stryke
Hmm, Since stock rom is sufficiently fast and the only reason I used to flash was to speed up the SGS, i'd pass i guess. I remember those stupid fixes to convert RFS to EXT4..Oh dear. those days

TRMNTR
If you like things simple then go for the CleaNote ROM.

Solitaire
You want JB only on Nexus, or general JB? I can tell you Lol, I already updated to JB when the Google I/O release came along. I'm just asking for what he thinks of his new phone with Jelly Bean (not Justin Bieber) on it.

Combined with GL_NoteCore 12 (STD or OC), GNote just flies. If you do decide to flash these, give the kernel some hours to settle. Brilliant performance ! Ph3N0M
Is this any good? I've never used Android before, and will use this just for simple internet browsing, and maybe playing on emulators at the most. That's why am looking for cheap options atm. Will the PS1 emulator work on this?
dante77
Never heard about it but I'd suggest you to keep away from cheap tablets or tablets like reliance tab or this one even if you want it just for browsing

Death Stryke
Do i need to unlock the bootloader to force update to 4.1.1? Or is it okay if i just get CWM recovery installed?

This one has a 1 year warranty. Basically, I don't know much about Android, and just need a device for browsing, hence was looking for cheap tablets. BTW has anyone here used a PS1 emulator for Android? Does it need very good hardware?
