Solitaire
How do you guys manage to rape the battery so much? I usually take it off battery at 7am, go to the office and keep using Whatsapp, my camera and a bunch of games like Scramble, Draw something pretty much continuously with wifi on and I'm at around 65% on an extended battery and around 50% on the usual one at 1pm. Kakarot
Any idea what the Note is going for these days? I guess anywhere around 23 to 25k (depending on the condition) if under some warranty and all accessories Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Bird Bird Bird
Did you make those widgets in UCCW ? Sadly I ain't that creative. XDA is the ultimate resource for almost all UCCW skins (rather all android :|)
TRMNTR
I guess anywhere around 23 to 25k (depending on the condition) if under some warranty and all accessories If I sell it off right now, I'll be waiting crazy for the next Nexus/Note. I'm actually planning to go for the next Nexus -- if Samsung doesn't sell it here in India then I'm gonna kick some a*s! Seriously!
Kakarot
^^ Yeah I hear you ! On a different note (pun intended) I face a problem with whatsapp...Whenever I am on Wifi I can't upload pics to any contacts...downloading pics works fine but uploading is never successful...any ideas why? I use a dlink router the MTNL guys give for 600rs on getting a Wifi connection from them...I have a feeling it's the router that is the culprit here...same issue with my sister's Xperia U as well. Also you guys have to play GOF2 THD using Chainfire's Chainfire3D application + NVIDIA Tegra addon...it is awesome!!! the app is available for download free of cost from the playstore
Bird Bird Bird
^^ Any source for the THD files apart from going Jack Sparrow ? Edit: Also last I read, CF3D wasn't so great on ICS, with random hangups and lags throughout. You on ICS or GB ? Edit: Also last I read, CF3D wasn't so great on ICS, with random hangups and lags throughout. You on ICS or GB ? Yup am on ICS right now...no lags whatsoever...the loading screen goes blank but I don't mind not being able to see a loading bar for 10 seconds... Also I've seen many people on XDA asking for apks of free apps available on the play store because it's unavailable in their region or as in our case not compatible with the device...I wouldn't consider it the jack sparrow way if we got it from any other way since it is free any ways right? Also once installed the game downloads 530 MB worth data directly from fishlabs servers PS: Nobody is facing that wifi issue with whatsapp? Mizanurification
That's not bad. It should get better if you stay on the same setup. And yeah, 6 hours is ridiculously long! I had terrible battery life on the S2. Dohvakiin, what's your usage like? I actually got 5hr 30 min on 1%. With 7hr on battery. Stock CM9. Lowest brightness. Wifi. Sync Off. Map deleted. Just browsing, tweeting and whatsapp. And i dont keep any background apps. My average is mostly 4hr screen on with 12hr on battery. Aftrunner
Ok so I have decided to root my Samsung Galaxy i9003 running 2.3.6. Whats a good place with a tutorial on the same?
TRMNTR
^^ If you're familiar with Odin, just d/l the CF-Root Kernel for the stock rom you have installed already (check the Kernel version in Settings > About Phone)... CF-Root Kernels for i9003 Make sure you backup up your contacts/sms/apps beforehand. IF you need the exact steps for flashing the Kernel, lemme know. TRMNTR
Since you asked for a tutorial (didn't see that earlier) here you go... [This is a guide (LINK) from XDA for flashing Stock ROMs -- modified it for rooting] [bACKUP YOUR PHONE FIRST] 1. Firstly, Download the required CF-Root Kernel from the link I gave you. 2. Run Odin3 v3.04 at the bottom of the page. 3. Set your phone to download mode : Press Volume down + OK first, then hold Power button. 4. Connect your phone, you should see Odin shows your phone is Added with COM number. 5. At this point you should see Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time unchecked. 6. Click PDA button and select the .tar file (Here you should not touch any of the Re-Partition/F.Reset options as the newer Odin automatically selects it for you, how conveinient!) 8. Click Start button to flash the file to phone. 9. Do not touch anything till you see PASS on the program window.

My usage is: 1. Battery 100% at 9 AM 2. Start EDGE and gmail sync, yahoo and FB sync is ON, with some call receiving and few SMS, and sometimes I listen to songs for 30-40 mins. 3. By the time I reach home at 8:30, the battery is around 60-65% remaining depending upon screen time. 4. Repeat 1. And all this at non-battery friendly MIUI ROM and kernel. If I use earlier versions of RR, I get around 70% remaining. Decent usage I say.

TRMNTR
I just did 40 searches of my own and it recognized none of them A lot of the cards are limited to just the US. If by not recognize you mean it didn't recognize your speech then have you tried switching it to English India?

dante77
What is easiest way to create backup. I am n00b at it. Do I have to create backup of all the apps or can I select the apps? I don't wanna backup my games. Also, is there any way to create 'contacts' backup separately? I am on stock ICS.

If you're rooted, use Titanium Backup from the market. For contacts, there's usually a provision in the contacts app to export them to the internal storage. If not, you can use GO Contacts from the market to do so.
