Why is that? That's a pretty big downside if true.

If you have any phone except Samsung and HTC dev support from XDA is usually weak, maybe good for Nexus phones but overall it is a sad scene.

That can probably generate some interest in devs, but it can fall either way. If you are too much into rooting and love custom Roms, you should probably wait it out a bit, but if stock is good enough(which is true with 4.1.1 and 4.2) this is easily day one buy.

Latest beta release for Swype out now

Beta 1.4 release.

Btw, I like gesture typing a lot. I like the look and feel of swiftkey but I must admit that no one comes close to accuracy of Swype. It's way better than any gesture based keyboards available for android.

But Xperia neo V has excellent community support.

That device is more than a year old, older than the SAMSUNG Gaaxy S III, if it did not get community support then something is very wrong.

Compared to recent HTC and SAMSUNG releases SONY phones have anaemic community support.

Amen, enjoy Swyping on my SONY XPERIA go. Was a little hard to catch on in the beginning but now is well established and super-fast.

Life proof phones is the future. Galaxy S4 Lifeproof or GTFO.

Sorry not happening, you might get another hunk of flimsy-shiny-plastic.

I have used S3, definitely not squeaky plastic as people make it sound.

Who knows. That is the only thing left for Samsung to improve. They will do that now for sure. S3 was a massive improvement over S2 when it comes to body.

Galaxy S3 feels amazing, people who haven't owned one shouldn't comment on its build quality...

Exactly. It's solid. People said I was from opposite world for calling s3 solid.

It's one light weight chunk of awesomeness. I phone feels very heavy compared to it.

Sent from my phone.

iphone 4 is 100 times better in looks and design. I posted in apple thread that it looks very weird. Didn't like it at all. Iphone 4 is still the best.

Bro, in my house atm, we have 4 phones, iPhone 5,iPhone 4s,Galaxy S3 and BlackBerry Bold

I would rate them in build quality as

iP5>S3>4S>Bold

I have had the one X with me for a week even that isn't as good as iP5.

I am not talking about how it feels while holding, I mean overall sturdiness and looks.

While holding iPhone feels most uncomfortable, but that's probably biased because now anything smaller than my S3 seems impossible to use to me

My home screen

Background - Google Images, don't remember.

Clock - Super Clock Wallpaper Light

Icons - MNML white theme

Launcher- Apex Launcher Pro

Battery - Circle Battery

Weather - Minimalistic Text

ROM - 4.2.1 LiquidSmooth AOSP

The only part where I had to f**k with the Rom is the white icons for time and stuff, extracted the SystemUI Apex from the phone, decompiled it, didn't find any good icons so made my own on photoshop, recompiled and flashed it :)/>

And this is the only part that looks ugly.

I can't take a screen shot of my lockscreen :(/> that looks awesome

No offence but it still feels weird to hold than my XPERIA go which according to most people (reviews) is cheap poly-carbonate with a matte finish.

The piano finish plastic used is not something that bodes well for me, finger-print, smudge, lint and dust magnet + highlighter and no toting it around in a case doesn't solve the issue.

Agreed it was a great leap on the higher end phone(s) but in the low-end and mid-range phones still lack a decent build and the physical home button feels dated and cheap.

One just needs to hold a Note and Note2 and they will get the point.

Don't deny that SAMSUNG still uses a piano-finish for its plastic. I just don't like it for the reasons stated above.

If they improve, good for them, if they do not then nothing can be done.

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that it's crappy. And lets take a minute to understand what we are talking. Sacky and me are talking about the build Quality. i.e. how solid it is, does it survive a fall, how solid it feels to hold etc. Going matte finish, or piano finish is a design choice. You can have a sexy looking phone, which crumbles like a potato chip when dropped. So try to understand what build quality means.

WTF are you talking about. Galaxy S3 or S2 are not finger print prone at all. Are you sure you have used either of the phones and not some cheap Galaxys like Ace or Y or some other crap? S2's back is a meshy casing, it doesn't get any finger print, and lint etc can be removed with one wipe.

I am talking as a collective, of all SAMSUNG devices (Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Y series, Galaxy S Advance). Most devices are still smooth finish glossy plastics.

SIII is piano-plastic back. =|

^^ Still I spoke about the home button being a bad aspect, never liked the feel of that on the SAMSUNG devices.

Everyone has moved onto capacitive buttons, feather-touch systems.

And a matte finish is much better from rigidity poin of view as well because of the increased grip it has, so less chances of an accidental drop.
