AtheK
Fack One totally Blows out the Z, and Z is still not launched http://blog.gsmarena.com/htc-one-benchmark-scores-are-here-ready-to-blow-your-mind/ Oh man why... And Nexus 4 is almost at the bottom in all test, hardly touching the centre of the top Droids Edited February 19, 2013 by AtheK
Spacescreamer
Strange looking grills on the HTC One. that and its bullying of the custom rom maker thing.. not too encouraging. btw.. Was HTC really after the custom ROM or were they actually after the people for using the HTC name on unaffiliated sites ? any news on bootloader unlocking/ROM scene improvement for HTC ? AtheK
Yup the bullying was sad, but then as pointed in other links pretty much no one is saint. It's the benchmarks hey are just awesome, and i am sure S4 is going to beat this. It is unbelievable how things are evolving, where one x had a score of 160, One has a scor of 640+ what a difference. As gsmarena said in one of the comparison that S3 looks like a phone from another era and it is not even a year one x and S3 were launched. Somebody
How easy is it to develop for Android? I have experience mostly with C and C# (Visual Studio), and I did use Java while doing my Masters.
sixthsense
The best comment i read from someone after going through these benchmarks : my s3 just committed suicide using apple maps... lol Somebody ..head over to xda and find some tutorials to sync google code and building android. Rest is c code that you already know.

TRMNTR
Could be, we need to wait 4.2.2. Also i am sure with custom rom One will go even much higher. Fun Times. It has a better processor so yes, it should go higher. Not by much though. Real world performance will be the same. I wish the One had on-screen buttons but for me it's better than the Xperia Z (and the S4) simply because HTC had the sense to keep their flagship at 4.7 inches and not go all berzerk like others. Even after that it has gone bananas with the benchmarks. 720p screen is a thing of the past.

sixthsense
but aren't android apps made in Java? Well i was talking about the android os development. Apps development is a different area all together.
Somebody
^^ sorry. I should've been clearer. Anyway, what can I do in Android that involves C?

Just when the need arises.. get the phone in your budget. This price/spec war has done one thing for sure.. has made people climb down from their moral high horse and look at the options of 'pre owned' category. earlier it was second hand.. now its pre owned.. What's the scene with htc phone's bootloader unlocking ease and future ROM support ? Z/ZL have been scoring pts via Sony directly on this front.. Rom wise one would have no issues, and bootloader unlocking would be easy too, mainly directly from the site. Issue would be the source and cutom kernels, HTC has not been releasing source quickly and in one X it is still awaited. Regarding the pre owned thing, i can't agree more, the price of phone drop faster then anything else i have ever seen, if you can hold the urge you will get yourself a deal within 2-3 months of launch of the phone. sixthsense
now i'm totally sold over ubuntu after watching the video on this page. http://techcrunch.com/2013/02/19/canonical-unveils-ubuntu-for-tablets-developer-preview-available-for-download-on-thursday/ If the developers preview on thursday works with multirom on the nexus 7 then it would be even better. Just hoping for the best. @somebody for starters you can try building and compiling kernel for your phone , as kernel source is usually pure c code. You might then customize and roll out your own custom kernel for your device. Edited February 19, 2013 by sixthsense

You might then customize and roll out your own custom kernel for your device. It might be easier/less overwhelming to program regular apps using NDK (You can choose how much you segregate between Java and C) or should be considered as another option as well.
