Look on the bright side dude. It's better you found out about the malfunction now. Imagine if you had done this after many months, with all your contacts and emails and msgs and stuff gone.

OR on a trek somewhere remote.

phone is water resistant in the sense, u can use it when it rains or stuff like that, but if you wash it like a vessel or put it inside a washing machine -well .... :giggle:

The phone carries a rating of Ingress Protection 57. That means the phone should be able to function after being left in water (less than 1m deep) for up-to 30 minutes.

If the standard production model cannot survive this regularly, SONY can be tried for falsifying and misleading consumers.

i didnt sink it in vessel or something, as i said it just normal wash, like we wash hands, im sure u dont sink ur hands for an hour in vessel/basin or somewhere just to make sure the're 99/99% clean, do u?

and even if i submerged it in vessel, it has to survive for about 30 min. as written on the box back,

god, im not even sure ppl like u will ever understand , :(

pity

IIRC, both of you guys have given your phones to the service center. You both are from the same city, meet up for drinks and share your feelings of being without expensive gadgets  .

I'm getting a notification on my phone since past couple of days from facebook "An updated version of facebook was downloaded" and then it asks whether i want to install it or not. Anyone getting it? I did check the app info and it is indeed coming from facebook app indeed. But im a bit wary of why it is bypassing google play.

It's a beta version of facebook. It's being pushed randomly to people. Their plan is to skip play store, and directly push updates to the app in the future.

lg optimus l9 vs sony xperia j/u vs lumia 620

which one should i buy ?

What do you want out of the phones?

If you want to live with fewer applications for now and are not bothered much the NOKIA Lumia 620 is the best bet. Also better build quality as well as an unique OS flavour.

If you are fine within the Android fold I suggest you the following handsets --

  • SAMSUNG Galaxy S Advance
  • LG Optimus L9
  • SONY XPERIA U / Sola (J is not worth its price)

Hope this helps, Cheerio!
