sixthsense
It was working fine in August-October 2012 when I replied to quite a few mails via gmail app with attachments. No idea which update f**ked it up. Need to find that apk. Dont want to use apps for even such basic features. You can setup gmail on the mail app right? that works ? ya i always use the mail app, it gives more features. Well all this talk got me confused. Gmail attachments just works fine on my phone. Probably it depends on the file manager you've on your phone. For me if i click attach picture then "Astro File Manager" pops up and i can pretty much select any file, attach and send it. Big Boss
I dont have that file manager. I have root explorer and one more. Let me install that.
The Wolfy among us
I dont have that file manager. I have root explorer and one more. Let me install that. doesn't matter which file explorer. When you select attach picture, one file explorer and gallery should be the options you can choose from. If you don't get the options, clear data for the gmail app.
The Wolfy among us
HTC One likely to be delayed The problem lies with one of the main selling points of the upcoming flagship phone - the "ultrapixel" camera. With the significant loss of profits and decrease in shipments HTC has had, an unnamed executive tells the WSJ that they are no longer considered a "tier-one" customer. This means they don't have the priority they once did with their parts suppliers, and are currently running short on components for the HTC One's camera and metal case. Big Boss
I am getting Astro File Manager now and able to attach anything. Earlier I wasn't getting my existing file managers also (still not). Only gallary and other picture related apps. Also, earlier Gmail had a distinct "Attach File" in attachment menu. Now they removed it for some lame reason. Shantz
^^ Probably root explorer isn't accepting the intents to allow choosing files.
Big Boss
I also have few others. But why Google removed that feature?

Cerberus. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lsdroid.cerberus&hl=en Well all this talk got me confused. Gmail attachments just works fine on my phone. Big Boss
That's how it has always worked. Not sure what Ambar is talking about. There was a separate Attach File option just above Attach Picture. Need to find that Gtalk apk. If you clicked on that option, it gave all File Explorers to choose from.
