 Now what is the problem with 1 GB? Seriously if you are planning to play games on mobile regularly, dont bother. Most of the good looking games are rip-offs and plain boring. And the controls are just terrible. Especially all those shitty Gameloft games. I have bought many of them when I got S2 thinking they would be fun, but the controls were so atrocious that I regret buying them, Not to mention heating up of the device. Only good mobile games are those casual time pass games, and they dont even need 512 mb RAM. So dont let RAM be a deciding factor at all.

And I open a ton of apps on my S2 without any lag. It has "only" 1 GB RAM and has latest Android i.e. 4.2.2

It's not that 1 gb is less.. The touchwiz is the issue in S3. Anyone who upgraded from s2 to s3 would tell you that s2 is far superior in multitasking.

In clearing ram s2 goes in 300-400 ram, S3 600-700 on a good day.

And it's not about games. I don't play the heavy games at all.

It's the tab refreshing, launcher reloads, tapatalk getting refreshed when I've just browsed through gallery etc etc kinda daily issue.

Ofcourse if you someone is fine with rooting and put AOSP, or use the Xposed framework it's not an issue.

But the ram management in S3 touchwiz is just horrible.

Front part of Xphone looks meh. Back is fantastic.

BTW Nexus 4 ordered with 2 cases, one ballistic case and other Ringke case as suggested by sixthsense. Now the wait.

From eBay? How much are you paying for the phone?

I'm still waiting for the official release :|

Hey Guys,

I'm using a Note 2 since a few months, im thinking of putting a Custom Rom on it. I am looking for suggestions:

1. Paranoid Android but ill need an App which utilizes the S-Pen for Note Taking

2. AOKP with the same requirements

3. Touch Wiz based Rom (not a big fan of Touch Wiz)

P.S. I know about XDA but the vast amount of information makes me feel lost. If i could get simpler guides for rooting and/or articles explaining the same and thus would be wonderful. As of right now im a Total Noob when it comes to Android, its my first Android Phone

P.P.S. Anyone used the Note 8, thinking of Picking it up for Note-Taking as the Note 2s 5.5" screen feels a bit small for the task. Most probably replace it with an OPPO Find 5 or Whatever New Nexus Google announces barring that it has 32GB internal Memory. Note 2s 16GB feels too less.

Thanks a Ton Guys

exactly why do you want a custom ROM and why would you want more internal memory, get a card, much cheaper.

Just ask me. I was a Symbian fanboy since 2003, owned 3 symbian devices i.e 6630, N70 ME and N82. In fact, I was an admin on a very popular Indian Symbian forum, (which soon turned into a adult site :( ). And for me, migration from Symbian to Android has been fantastic and perfect upgrade.
