The Wolfy among us
How about a Windows phone?
ALPHA17
^^ Look at the following options as well, SONY XPERIA L SAMSUNG Galaxy Grand NOKIA Lumia 620 / 720 I think the Lumia would be best with its chunkier aesthetics and easier to navigate systems. My parents are using 520's and feel it holds up very well against budget Android smartphones. Lack of applications is a valid reason to worry but seeing that it is your mother who shall use it best to keep things simple. How about a Windows phone?  Touché. Big Boss
sorry avkash, but your instructor was wrong. I'd again reiterate that it is extremely subjective. example: 1. I detest anything that is not linux for my everyday use computer. I just feel lost and everything is so labored when I'm not on linux. 2. My work has me developing on windows all day long. Â Now, above doesn't mean that it is true for everyone. But that situations that you are describing are not facts. I wouldn't take anything that an instructor for these certifications says anyways. Most of those folks are instructors because they couldn't get a better job. Â +1. Those who can, they do. Those who can't, they teach

dranjithk
Am in awe of ubuntu touch. Will it be possible to put in my htc one when it comes out? Â Modaco switch allows you to dual boot the One-Sense version and Google Play version. It should be a matter of time before the XDA team can find a way to dual boot Linux and Android. I'm waiting too!

dranjithk
I have a stupid question. When you dual boot an Android device, will the data (Read contacts, texts, media..) be available on both OSes? Anyone here dual-booted before? AtheK
With modaco it shares a common repository for apps.

Anyone here dual-booted before? Â Yes, the /data partition is generally kept common. Â Dual-boot kernels for Android are still not very common, but they provide the easiest way of trying out a new ROM without going through the backup/restore hassle. I remember using dual boot on my Galaxy 3 (I5801) a couple of years back
The Wolfy among us
When i dual booted using Siyah's kernel, the data was kept different. I was unable to access contacts, images etc until i synced them with google again.

Stopped caring about ROMS since I got Nexus 4.
