Somebody
^^ Is it only for the foreign versions of the Play Store? Not working for my version of the application. No idea. It worked for me and I have the version from the US play store.

Somebody
There's no range associated with the cell towers AFAIK. That's the GPS/network location. As for the battery life, it isn't affected at all since your phone scans for cell towers anyways. I've had a couple of tasks set up to trigger when I arrive at work, based on cell towers (Cell Near), and it seemed to be working fine. The phone always rang when I got a phone call though. I then realized that when a call comes through, it (maybe?) connects to different towers than the ones I connect to on LTE. So, I turned off 4G/LTE and rescanned and added those towers to the list, and it seems to be fine for now

Shantz
Nexus 5 will only have 2220 mah battery :'(
Solitaire
GOOG Y U DO DIS? However, from leaked pictures it looks like it's about the same size as the N4 but with a bigger screen. http://www.theverge.com/2013/9/12/4723138/lg-nexus-5-photo-details-revealed-in-fcc-filing An earlier FCC filing revealed that the Nexus 5's radio could support LTE bands used by AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint (see update below), and it noted that the device had a 4.96-inch screen. It also said that new phone would support dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and will have a 2,300mAh battery as well. Additionally, it stated that the device came in at 5.19 inches in height and 2.69 inches in width. For comparison, the Nexus 4 is 5.27 inches tall and 2.7 inches wide even though it has a smaller, 4.7-inch screen.
AtheK
Ya saw it, they will probably have a mediocre camera to boot and no SD card support and then price it 400$-450$ having limited quantities at launch and it will disappear. People will think it is a huge success, google is baap of marketing
Shantz
I dont care about marketing. Nexus or GTFO for me Edit: Ready to pay full price of another flagship for a nexus. Edited September 12, 2013 by Shantz

I don't care much about the GPU since I don't game on mobile phones anymore. Improve the damn camera, maybe throw in an IR blaster like the S4 or some other funky feature instead of simply upping screen size. And if it's similar to the G2, taking the big battery out of it is just wrong But still..... I'd rather pay for a flagship Nexus than any other Android device - even against a Nexus 'edition' phone. Shantz
^^ To be fair to apple, they didn't claim 64 bit = 2x faster. They said 64 bit AND 2x faster. They are ahead of the curve in apps processor department from everyone else. I was astonished as well that they were able to do it this quickly. AtheK
@gaurav: lol why go all ape sh*t when no one even compared two phones Nexus 4 was a mediocre phone at best, the best thing was the Timely Support and Price. The screen was mediocre, the proc was decent, camera is bad. The HTC one and S4 google edition are the real beast, and i am not sure if Nexus 5 would be close to G2. G2 is a flagship device, just like how optimus G pro was(better screen, better camera, better proc). Haha, I know what they actually meant, it was how they said it in the live event that I was referring to and the retarded comments on youtube. Not at all implying that the processor isn't something great. @gaurav: lol why go all ape sh*t when no one even compared two phones Nexus 4 was a mediocre phone at best, the best thing was the Timely Support and Price. Solitaire
to my defence this was almost after a long long time "Almost" BTW I don't see how you're saying the N4 has a mediocre display. Anandtech's testing showed deeper blacks and a better contrast ratio than even the iPhone 5. The processor has never once slowed down or lacked enough oomph with the N4 even when running demanding games or multitasking. The body feels really good even though the glass back is fragile (haven't broken it yet ) The S4 came out a half year later IIRC. So too with the others you've named. And at a much higher price at launch. Coincidentally, Best Buy here offers a BB gift card for ~$260 if you trade in the N4 right now. I totally would if only I knew that the N5 was really good and coming sooner rather than later. Somebody
Why aren't you guys interested in the GP editions of HTC One or the S4? They get updates quick (like 2 weeks later than Nexus devices), and have great hardware
Shantz
^^ I'm not entirely sure of the GP edition model. OEMs still have to update them. Lets see how they deal with 4.4 and if that goes well, they will be a great alternative to nexus.
AtheK
they were extremely quick with 4.3, HTC One had the update in less then 2 weeks(while it was still being rolled out in phased manner for Nexus 4). So ya they work absolutely fine.
