PAL release pushed back to 26th September.

And I still stay this is the EXACT same game as the first two with levels constructed with one purpose in mind (flanking). The idea was fine the last couple of times but do we really need another with a token visual upgrade? Token, because they can't even get the lip syncing right.

Nopes, I wouldn't say that it is still the same old game with upgraded visuals.

Flanking is not the only thing that you have to do in the game if you have to proceed ahead though yes, it is the fastest way to get ahead. Out of 4-5 firefights that I have been in, I managed to get out of three without having to flank at all. Just intelligent placement of my troops ensured that I got the Germans much before they could hide behind their sand bags.

Core gameplay seems to be the same, though more tighter. Aiming down the sights rewards you with more accuracy though you really have to line down your shots. Seems more realistic this time around. Also, from what I have seen thus far, there seems to be a hell lot of cut-scenes between firefights.

Are the set pieces grand?

The review code doesn't seem to have any as it is all from the initial stages of the games. I hope that they become much better as the game progresses. Mostly, I have been fighting through barns and open fields right after the gliders landing in Holland. Couple of fights took place in market squares which mixed up the gameplay a bit.

The preview ended right when I seemed to be getting into an epic battle promised by a very Saving Private Ryan's style opening.

Cover system seems to do the job just fine, especially peeking round the corners to take the Jerries down or lobbing that occasional grenade or two. The transistion from the TPS view while in cover back to FPS view seems a bit jarring.

Been playing PC games after such a long time so I am not too sure if getting into cover is as difficult as I am finding it to be. Will have to play a coupel of more sessions before I get the hang of it I guess.
