As I've always liked the concept of the designated marksman in squads, I can't say anything bad about the DMR. Now to actually play the Beta. BR was pretty much the all-purpose weapon in Halo 3, which BTW, is a bad thing. I mean I could have a BR and win in almost every situation. That's not a fair game TBH. It was fun only 'cause everybody started using the weapon which kills the variety in the games. Oh and don't even get me started on the effing BR spread. >.< The DMR is NOT a replacement for the BR. The Pistol on the other hand comes really close to the BR. And they both take a lot of skill. So, you just need to play some more. You'll warm up to them. Also, the new SWAT playlist is actually better since you have reliable weapons to play with. It's not like in Halo 3 where your spray and pray. The weapons are hit-scan, hence accurate and deadly. Although both the DMR and Pistol have slight drawbacks but they still get a from me. can't i skip those assassination animations ? i melee a lot in halo. got killed while assassinating ppl 4 times in 1 game today Pressing the melee button once results in the normal assassination whereas long pressing it results in the animated assassination or execution. Also I wasnt kidding when I said the pre public Beta players were freakishly good. I mean check this out, on the left is me Pre public Beta, on the right is after the Beta went public. I could see the animation play but when my grenade exploded, I got the credit for both the kills, getting a double kill.
