Aftrunner
Exactly. This alone should make people happy. Not really. I still despise the way Activision does business. Yearly franchise runs with NO change in mechanics. Zero innovations. Zero risk. Over priced games. Over priced DLCs which are HORRIBLE value for money. Gimped down PC versions. Complete lack of support once the new yearly franchise game is out. Yeah its only one IP so Bungie still get to do their own thing on other games they are making but it makes me feel like some of that sh*t is gonna rub off on them. And you are only kidding yourself if you think Acti is just gonna sit back for 3 years and let Bungie make a game. Acti arent that kind of a publisher. And I don't know how big a studio Bungie really is (in terms of workforce), but if it's a 10 year publishing deal then indeed they could end up working on just this one IP all the way. Hardly changes anything for them. May be Bungie likes it that way, and the only change they really wanted was a new master. By the way, why'd you think it's an MMO? Where do you get this indication from?
CarbonCore
Probably the most disregarded and unwanted developer suddenly becomes the most sought-after by PS3 owners. Gotta love multi platform for the same reason. Not really...
Keyofx
wtf, y r u all so negative ? Activision is just the publisher, Bungie is the one who'll be developing it. So how does it matter anyway ? All MS did was to force bungie work on halo after halo games. They wanted a change, they chose acti. Get over it fellas. OT: Does anyone remember why IW left Acti? Aftrunner
Not really... Oh yes. Really, really. Actually, it would be brilliant. PSf**s wouldnt know what to make of it. If they profess that Bungie is awesome that means they have to go back on the "lolol gaylo iz so ovrrated" thing. If they dont they are cutting off the nose to spite the face. Aftrunner
Oh yes. Really, really, really. Infact I expect the half of the PSforce to assemble soon and go on the record as saying that they wouldnt buy a Bungie game cause they think Halo is overrated. And the other half to say something on the lines of "Well Bungie are gonna have to prove themselves to earn my sale cause I think Halo is massively overrated". Buzz
But Halo is overrated...at least for me. Left Halo 1 midway and Halo 3 after few minutes. The day I got my xbox 360 I popped in Halo 3 but was not at all impressed. So traded the game with Mass Effect 1 BTW, check this out: Sony: Bungie on PS3 will create 'Halo on steroids' While the unholy marriage of Activision and Bungie was met with terror and confusion by the vast majority of gamers this morning, at least one entity is rubbing its metaphorical hands together with glee. That entity would be Sony, now finally able to get its talons on a Bungie property. Sony isn't shy about hyping up the prospect, either, declaring that putting a Bungie game on the PS3 would be akin to giving Halo steroids -- essentially saying that the black box o' Blu-ray will make Bungie's games far better than they ever could be on the Xbox 360. "Congrats to Bungie," beams Sony. "Marrying their creative minds and incredible talent to the power of PS3 will be like giving PS3 fans Halo on steroids." Wow. Bold words indeed, and a good way of hitting home this bizarre reality that Bungie's games are destined to appear on the PS3. Still quite a weird concept to grasp, despite the fact we all knew Bungie was distancing itself from Halo and exclusivity. It's definitely been an odd day. Ne0
OT: Does anyone remember why IW left Acti? The problem there was that Acti owned the COD IP and not IW. Same with MS and Bungie. MS owns the halo IP. Can you see a similarity in both of them leaving their ex companies now ? With Acti, since bungie will be owning the IPs, they have some more degree of freedom, just like how IW has now with EA. BTW, on IW joining EA....EA The same EA, that ppl used to curse and bitch about until Acti took its place !

Their EA Partners program sounds like a much better way of publishing games. It gives the developers a certain degree of freedom and doesn't let EA fire everyone like they did with Westwood and Pandemic. We haven't seen a full acquisition from EA in a long while. Not like the old days.
