Solitaire
If you talk pure business, PS3 sales in India don't justify repair/service facility. I fought long for but it (extended warranty) last year but it did not happen. Guess we will have to live with 50% off. Atleast you have that, people like me with an imported piece from Singapore (NTSC-J 160gb) will end up with an expensive paperweight if the console YLODs
i_rock098
good news but it will take time before that is implemented in india BTW i always laugh at the prospect of using PS3 as a paperweight there are better ways to use it like throwing it from top of the building ?? Nemo
i have not read the OP quote but some thing of this sort is there in england. I remember reading a topic about it on PSU (which is a european users dominated website) forums. basically u had to pay 5 pounds or thereabouts each month, like an insurance. But it was a 3rd party offering, no relation to sony. As far as here in India, there is chroma, giving you 2 yr extended warrenty for 750 rupees extra. I have that but i am not sure how chroma will work, hope my ps3 remains sturdy and the situation does not come where i have to bang my head at chroma's doors

Well PS3s are kinda better built and better looking (hence usable as paperweight) than a certain other console. They don't crap out on a regular basis hence you can't be that free with them and throw them off buildings all the time

DinJo
Anyone knows when is this going to implemented in India ?
anish81
^^ Very much unlikely to get implemented anytime soon in india. As a replacement sony generally provides refurbished consoles as per their extended warranty plans. Here in india they have to replace with a brand new console (becuase no repairing facility). So, can't imagine sony will implement this service here. peace
ColorCodePurple
Hmm cant sony provide extended warranty for problems in the ps3 system that cannot be repaired? (for example for consoles that YLOD).But I forgot that requires Sony actually paying attention to Indian customers
