if i get the PS3 slim from play-asia for 17K (or any other country for that matter)i can just buy games from India ! and not worry about region-compatibility like Xbox !

Well as I told you on the first page, we buy consoles for playing games and there are more games on PS3 imho (and I have both the consoles). And if you wait til E3, you will see that the library is gonna get better still. A PS3 slim is the best option right now for you

 

And Neo please check the wikipedia page for the list of PS3 exclusive game: MGS4, Infamous, KZ2, LBP and Heavy Rain are one of the best games in their genre.

they are region free i mean games but still it will we good for u to buy ps3 or 360 from india only u never know what developers can do

for example dlc if u buy games for ps3 from usa then they will work if developers dont use region on them but if dlc comes out then its a big problem becz of the codes

buy it from the shop near u so that if anything goes wrong u can go and kick his a*s and tell him what the hell man!!!!!!!!!!

so buy it from ur city

I would suggest don't buy from PA - warranty is the biggest reason. Even if the PS3 is less error prone than the X360 it can still get errors, and then you're royally screwed. MS at least has an option for repairs for OOR consoles by shipping them to Oz (last I heard 5k). Sony has no such option. You can replace your console by paying half the cost of a new one (10k). Errors do happen and since you're buying an expensive item I would suggest warranty is very important.

 

The rest - don't bother much about the games - both have enough to keep you happy whatever genre you prefer. The choice for you boils down to - do you want Blu Ray? Can you connect your console to an ethernet cable?

my uncle lives in Indonesia. so i might get the PS3 slim from there. that way, its cheaper, can be serviced and it's region-free !!

the forums is filled with ps3 fanboys and the sheer number of posts in the thread itself is misleading. If u are a FPS junkie , u love shooters and love competitive gaming online then simply get a xbox 360. If u are aching to play god of war 3, MGS4 or uncharted2 you are better off playing it at a gaming lounge or by borrowing your friends ps3 for a while to play these games . rest of them ps3 exclusives are 'missable' .

Get it here. Sony doesn't have a service option here also. The only option is to replace at half cost (10k). Get the slim but get it here. Praashant's giving a good deal on the 250gb GOW3 console.

If u are aching to play god of war 3 (me2), MGS4 (metro 2033) or uncharted2 (splinter cell) you are better off playing it at a gaming lounge or by borrowing your friends ps3 (360, or yeah whats it called again.. a PEE CEE) for a while to play these games . rest of them ps3 (360) exclusives are 'missable' .
