Help!!! GPU is getting dangerously hot

Well, my XFX 8600GT 256MB graphics card is reaching over 100 degrees even in idle condition. I have checked from GPU-Z, that GPU fan is working on 100% speed. I removed the card and found that it's getting dangerously hot...........even to touch. I suppose my GPU cooler is not workin properly. Any advice, how to replace the cooler and from where i can get the cooler for my card. Atb this moment, i can't afford another card. My PS3 has also gone YLOD. So, basically i'm f**ked up

basic troubleshooting , try cleaning the heatsink on your GFX card with a blower and subsequently blow out all the dust inside of your cabinet . and hold the blower for a good 10-15mins on the PSU fan .

generally it's dust blocking air flow and start insulating , so the elecs get heated, get rid of it and you'll be good to go.

for other hardcore stuff the pc experts can take over.

edit: discard if you already did this :P

Thnx guys, for all the responses. I have already cleaned dust from Cooler/FAN. I am using a well ventilated cabinet. All my Processor/HDD temps are pretty reasonable.Only graphics card is overheating like hell and yeah, it's out of warranty. So, i'm guessing the cooler is not functioning properly. Can i replace the cooler of the graphics card. From where can i get the suitable cooler for that??

My System spec:

Intel Pentium DC E2180@3.0GHz with OCZ vendetta cooler

Hitachi Deskstar 160GB HDD

Corsair VX450 smps

Zebronics cabinet

XFX 8600GT 256MB DDR3 graphics card @stock clocks

^ Thnx man for ur advice. I dismantled the cooler and cleaned up the GPU chip with IPA. Then i applied newly bought cooler master thermal paste and reassembled the unit. Guess what, still now it's showing temp under 65 degrees. I think it's ok now.....:O

Thanks to u all for ur advices.
