winny29
Happy to have 3g in India. My only worry is the congestion in the network. I hop ethe performance of the 3g network is upto the mark.

Bird Bird Bird
Been using BSNL's 3G for the past 3 months.. Get constant speeds of ~ 30-32 KBps in my area.. In areas with a better coverage, get usually close to 42-45 KBps.. Really happy with the performance.. Can't even think of going back to EDGE now.. Bird Bird Bird
Go Here , Click on Ques. 20.. Edit: Personally, I have experienced speeds upto 1Mbps, but that was short lived..
TheHitman
Well Edge is supposed to give you 384Kbps = 48KBps.. Are you sure u're on 3G?
Bird Bird Bird
Well Edge is supposed to give you 384Kbps = 48KBps.. Are you sure u're on 3G? Yup.. What you mentioned is the theoretical bandwidth.. For all practical purposes, EDGE gives 20-25 KBps max.. 3G is supposed to give >384 Kbps, which it does in well covered but low-user base areas.. As i wrote before, i managed to get ~ 1Mbps also.. Using Omnia 2 with WinMo 6.5, with a 3G BSNL sim, and 3G data topups.. Plus the 3G sign on top changes to 3G+ the moment network is accessed .. So yeah, pretty sure i am using 3G .. Edit: Can make clear video calls also..
