Supposed to be at GDC this march.

Deus Ex 3 will be the subject of an entire Games Developer Conference 2010 lecture this March.

Eidos Montreal's art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletete will blabber on about "The Successes and Failures of Creating a Near-Future Cyberpunk Setting with a Renaissance Twist in Deus Ex 3."

He'll pay particular attention to the "Cyber Renaissance" look that is "infused across fashion, characters, environments and story", wrote the GDC website.

Deus Ex 3 will be at the show, then, and possibly viewable. And we'll also be at the show. Let's hope those two elements collide. Deus Ex 3 is in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

There are other talks going on GDC, which takes place from 9th to 13th March in San Francisco.

Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka (who has just joined No More Heroes developer Grasshopper) will talk about his career in the industry, and Batman: Arkham Asylum's Rocksteady is discussing rebooting a superhero videogame IP.

Keep up to date with the other talks on the GDC website.

A single image appeared today on the Eidos forums teasing the next installment of Deus Ex. The image (shown below) displays a close-up of a hand holding a lighter.

The forum moderator who posted the image didn't give many details but did say "...people who like to go into details will shortly have some new material to dissect."

There is light at the end of the tunnel

I think it'll be good/great game. It will probably end up being a matter of expectations.

To put it rather loosely, this might end up being to Deus Ex 1, what Mass Effect 2 is to the RPG genre.

Not conforming to the tradition notion/standard set by the original but instead, building on the current standards in the industry to provide a great experience.

I love DX1. Favorite game of all time. But I don't expect it to come anywhere near it, mostly because I expect a vastly different game.

Hello Icarus - I liked the first part where he lifts off. The trailer should've stopped with him waking up. and I see they are going the whole "Let's not number sequels to attract the new console crowd" like Thief.

Really? Looks like dull CGI to me.

Ingame or bust.

Hey, it is CGI and not ingame. You can expect the real deal to be shown at e3 but I really liked the trailer. A lot of effort has been put into it and it shows. Also, as you might have noticed the devs are really focusing on the augementation. IF they manage to do it the way they did in the first game then you can expect some serious fireworks. Also, I heard you will have a lot of options of eliminating or knocking out enemies using melee tactics since one of our heroe's hand is an implant and it can do a lot of things. They are really working hard on this game but yes we will get to see how the game actually plays out and handles itself only when E3 happens this summer.
