newuxtreme
Hey, I really want to venture into the world of online gaming now... Current Modem Trouble is I have the old school dial up airtel net connection with the old Beetel DSL modem (which doesnt have lan ports in it). I still use this modem coz it gives a new ip(dynamic) ON DEMAND, meaning i dont have to wait for the modem to automatically give me a new ip, i just reset conection either manually or thru a software and use it for downloading files off rapidshare etc. I've tried to connect to the internet on the Xbox using this modem a couple of times but could never get it to work properly... What are the possible solutions i have? If i jus buy a new router/modem(the one with many lan ports which i can plug my 360 as well as my computer at the same time), then connect using the pc, and access the net through the Xbox, will it work? Or will i have to change my connection completely from the dial up it currently is to some other static ip version of net connection in which the computer gets connected to the net automatically on booting up. Help would be much appreciated... Speed 512 kbps is decent for playin btw?
Noctis
You need a broadband connection for online gaming. 512 kbps works great, even 256 is fine.
newuxtreme
What does that mean, i have to call up airtel and ask em to fix me up with a new modem?
Noctis
Means you need to change from Dial up connection to a broadband connection. They are completely different. They should install a proper modem when you get the connection.
