anish81 Posted May 29, 2010 Report Share Posted May 29, 2010 Hi, just going to pick up a XBOX 360 arcade. Now, my question is how to keep the console to run it cooler, horizontal or vertical?? I know 360 gets pretty hot. My room has no AC, and definitely remains quite hot in summer time. So, any suggestion will be helpful. I don't wanna brick my console due to overheating. Right Posted May 29, 2010 Report Share Posted May 29, 2010 Theoretically, positioning 360 vertically will make more surface area exposed, so it should be more cooler. However, it messes up with the DVDdrive, I kept my 360 in vertical position for a year, it used to scratch disks badly and one fine day it stopped reading them completely. I am keeping it horizontally since then. The place where 360 is placed is quite far from AC, but I didn't have any RROD or freezeups, so guess it's running fine. The best thing to do in this summer would be play for 3hrs than give it a half hour break and again continue. I did not find a single unit anywhere. Due to some f**king Sales TAX issue, i cannot even buy the console from praashant also.
