So you and the rest of the brigade have never dissed Valve for their 6 year old engine and crappy grafix and overhyped games? Dig up any Valve related thread and see how it's been trashed by the PS fanboys (including yourself) not just for their stance on the PS3 but the quality of the games as well. I'm sure retrospectively all that would've in jest and not because of bruised egos. Anyways, there's no point continuing this. Valve on PS3 is a win for everybody so let's leave it at that.. Not liking their games doesn't mean you automatically have to praise everything they do either. And apparently its not a win for everyone lol. The point about the old engine came up in a discussion about the economics of game development and in reaction to someone saying that Valve didnt develop for PS3 because its expensive. If you want to drag that out of context, go ahead. achilles Posted June 15, 2010 Report Share Posted June 15, 2010 so..leme get this straight.. nintendo moved on to the hardcore stuff, pulled out their best IPs and showed kick a*s hardware. so they did take flak received from their previous E3s seriously. ms meanwhile thought it'd be the smart cat this time around and have the worst e3 press conference like nintendo had been having which in some odd flow of luck and time would result in awesome mega bozzikal sales of the new kinect. sony meanwhile ignored a lot of it's first party stuff and pulled an MS and pulled some level of 3rd party exclusivity. the only difference being, where ms scores dlc, sony scored day zero extra content. kinda flippy all over. lol. Sony still has lots of first party devs with unannounced/unshown games which they'll show throughout the year. lack of starhawk and syphon filter was disappointing TBH, no new psp game announcement from sony bend is literally a confirmation that they're working on PS3 project. also at ppl who expected UC3 to be here, both resistance 3 and UC3 will debut at spike VGA later this year. I honestly don't care about either of Valve's games. I simply want to see them come to PS3 so someone can interview Gabe Newell about it. Sony didn't show lots of games that we know they have (Motorstorm, Last Guardian, Agent etc). The reason MS's PC was disappointing was because we kept thinking "Fable/Gears/Halo are only the games we know about. At E3 they'll show us everything else theyve been working on that we don't know about". And they didn't. After what seems like years of demand, Sony has announced cross-game chat, which allows PSN members to talk to each other, even while playing different games. However, the oft-demanded feature does come with one large caveat: chats can only be initiated by PlayStation Plus members. PlayStation Plus members will be able to send invites to any member of the PlayStation Network, free or paid. Up to four PSN members can be in a party chat, however at least one participant must be a member of PlayStation Plus. The chat will discontinue if all paying members disconnect. While some may be disappointed that such a hotly demanded feature is closed behind a pay wall, the service is still technically available to free members. So long as you're popular and have friends that pay for PlayStation Plus, you should be able cross-game chat and keep your free ride, too.
