Played the demo. Visauls look a bit better. Passing has improved.

 

Liked the new features like Highlights.

 

Glad that i has it pre-ordered

Played the demo the entire afternoon and here are my impressions...........

 

Pro-Passing :majesty: Personality+ :majesty: Real-AI :majesty:

 

These are the three features which totally change the way FIFA is played....

 

Because of Pro-Passing passing is tougher now.......... The pass is not proper unless the player is balanced and stable while the pass is being played....... In earlier iterations, the animations showed that the player is passing the ball with difficulty, but eventually, the pass used to be proper......... But now, if the player is having difficulty, then the pass will be sort-of hay-wire........ So, you have to be careful while passing........ Because it's not like earlier and when a player receives a pass, he takes a fraction of a sec to get himself positioned with the ball........

 

And the passing also depends on the situation aswell....... For me, once Xavi played a very poor pass because he was being charged on by two players........ So, he haphazardly passed the ball and the pass wasn't good......... But when he had space and time, he was delivering dangerous balls........ I think this is a very cool feature....... :thumbsup:

 

Personality+ doesn't affect the game much but it's a nice addition........ Because of it, almost all players feel a bit different from each other........ But there are a lot of traits that are included........ So, there's a lot of variety...... Like Chamakh has the "Aerial player" or something trait (I don't remember the exact name) and because of that he wins headers very nicely........ But the thing to notice is that Ibrahimovic, who is I guess is taller than Chamakh, does not head balls that efficiently as Chamakh does.......... Atleast I didn't notice that in the ten matches I played......... :hypocrite:

 

Real-AI is an excellent addition aswell......... I was shocked to see how Ronaldo and Higuain dribbled the ball past my mid-fielders and defenders and how they were left just looking at the ball once the player got-away........... This is the first-time in a FIFA game that the AI is really smart....... Not only in terms of skill moves or dribbling, but also in defending.......... They judge and intercept passes very well now............ :thumbsup:

 

I felt that taking the ball away from the other team is comparatively easy.......... But keeping the possession of the ball is that much tougher......... Because of the tough passing.......... I can say that this isn't the arcade-ey FIFA, what we saw in FIFA 10........ The pace of the game is slower now........ Much like FIFA 08........ And you HAVE to focus on build-up play......... Much more than FIFA 10.........

 

No more stupid stadium cut-scene while substitutions............ :wOOtjumpy:

 

Be-A-Goalkeeper is cool too......... We can control the keeper in the Arena........... And there's a sense of satisfaction when an acrobatic save is made.......... Imagine the level of excitement in full-fledged matches....... :wOOtjumpy:

 

The penalty system is like the World Cup game........... And since I didn't buy that, I have to practice that now........... Another thing I have to practice are the chip-shots........ They have followed the same system as in the World Cup game.......... So, I just have to put in a few hours in the Arena and it should be easy-breezy......... B)

 

All-in-all, I think the game has improved by leaps and bounds over it's predecessor.......... In the full game, if all the game-modes are put in place properly, then for me, it will be the best FIFA game ever made...........

I played it all day today and things that struck me as good were

 

The passing mechanism really makes you think on the fly while you are playing.

The opposition is ALOT smarter than previous iterations and will actually close you down faster and pickup on every bad move that you make.

The game plays with extreme clunkiness but after a while you get used to it and start realizing that the dynamics actually add flavor to what would have been an utter mess if it hadn't been done right

Playing as a Goalkeeper - I'd give this a plus one considering that I have been fussing about this for almost 9 years now but I finally realize that its not all its cracked up to be. DLC perhaps?

I also like how when you simply run onto other players, your player will try to get ahead of them using any means possible. Eg. I was playing with Barca and when Messi got the ball taken from him, Villa ran onto the defender whose back was turned and just pushed him over lol - Entertaining to say the least and I wasn't even pressing any buttons.

 

What made me go eh?

 

The refresh rates leave you skipping a lot of the FMVs and Loaders because it probably wasn't fine-tuned. Let's hope this gets fixed by Game release time

Controller lag was evident but as I stated above, once you get used to it, you will hardly bother realizing its there

Team Mech setup hasn't changed and that might have played very well with how the entire team is setup to offer a passing system (Oh well i've got PES/WE to satiate me there)

Players still float when they run and the graphics aren't anything to go wow over but then again I could care less what they look like as long as they pass and the game mechanics keep me learning all the time.

What about the Commentary and Stupid Offsides?

 

Commentary is more-or-less the same........ Nothing too great......... Nothing too bad........ What about offsides are you asking though....???? :unsure:

 

And other few things I forgot to mention is that now there's an option called "Handball" in the Game Settings screen which can be set either to "On", "On (Except PK)" and "Off"............ And we can also select the net of the goal as either "Loose", "Regular" or "Tight" and we can also select the shape, "Rectangle" or "Triangle"............. :)

Played another 3 games and i feel that crosses and corners have become easier.

Didnt find anything interesting while playing as goalkeeper.

For me , this one plays and feels a lot better than fifa 10. Cant wait to play online :dance:

Compared to PES or previous FIFA? I played the PES demo, loved it a lot. Wondering how FIFA PC this year is going to be.
