I think I underestimated Switzerland - i thought they will go into a complete defense mode and put all men behind. They defended when they had to and attacked when they could. Very pragmatic approach I would say. Spain were not that bad but it was obvious they were out of ideas - the last ten minutes all the attacks came from one side - pass to jesus navas and hope the cross meets torres / villa. And Torres is out of form. He had two chances which he would have converted his day and both were missed because of poor first touches. the good thing is his pace is still too much for defenders to handle - so something might come out of this. I read in some commentary that the way Chile played must be the way to go - make short, quick passes rather than try to use the long ball method because the ball is pretty unpredictable in the air. The Spaniards were quicker than the Swiss but they never utilized any open slots and instead tried to float in winners. The next two weeks are going to be very interesting indeed.
