spindoctor
suarez was offside... also the goalie didn't make much contact... suarez was going down too easily in the match.... pity... yea that was a dive. not sure it deserved a penalty, and definitely didn't warrant a red card. still, uruguay played better football over the 90 minute duration and they deserved to win. Dark_Knight
not necessarily... to either statement... It would be very difficult for SA to qualify from now... Also when the penalty was scored the stadium was silent for 5 seconds (I thought I had gone deaf due to the Vuvuzelas ) So really hoping that the noise will reduce by atleast 50% once they are knocked out

Don Karnage
It seems Beckenbauer's comments really upset some people - Source Capello - I was surprised to hear [the comments], the Italian said. "Always, when you speak about someone, you have to respect their team. I respect his team and he needs to speak about them. But it's easy to speak about teams when you stay in the stands. You have to see the match [in the flesh]. My players could not play the style they like [against the USA] because the pressure was really strong. Rooney seems overconfident - We've got a chance now to put things right and beat Algeria and I'm pretty confident we'll do that. I believe we will win on Friday and qualify from this group. We will be fine. If I am being honest, I think we will win our last two games and end up being top of the group. I don't think there will be any problems about that. Nemo
So, Domenech with his brand of weird today on show again.. I really hope he thinks about winning the match and the first step towards that will be to start malouda in the team AND START HIM AS A WINGER. Seriously i dont know what he was thinking omitting him in the last match, play him at left wing, put ribery on the right and anelka as the lone striker, that will get him some teeth up front. Malouda was superb for us in the later half of the PL campaign, specially his combo with ashley cole was a delight. Evra can play that role for him pretty well too. Mel81x
get gourcuff out and call up nasri +1 He let the game out of his hands the last time when he played Gourcuff up there and honestly he didn't even produce anything. I like Nasri, he's hard working, passes a lot and isn't scared to make to those runs into places that offers others chances to move up the pitch. This might be the last we see of Raymond and even Zidane doesn't like the nutter

Don Karnage
I remember reading that Domenech will leave after the World Cup to be replaced by Blanc, found the link - Source First France and now Portugal have issues with the manager - Source The strange thing is, he moved me to the right flank. I'm not a winger," Deco said in a post-match interview. "We weren't playing great but I'm sure we were improving."He later added: "The substitutions weren't as good as they might have been, but the coach makes the calls." Nemo
yeah.. the goals are seriously drying up.. but that has been the case in international tournaments and the goal ratio has been steadily declining over the last few cups. teams would rather sit tight and wait for opposition to make a mistake than go all guns blazing.. and i dont blame them, WC comes once in 4 years. Mel81x
My only argument to the ball statement by SGE is that everyone is playing with the same ball and to make matters worse, its a perfectly aero-dynamic ball so how can anyone be at an advantage here. As for goals not being scored in plentiful, most teams that played in the first round all wanted to weather the storm against stronger opponents so its only natural that they sat back and tried to push back on counters thats why there weren't many goals. Just wait till the second round is done and then the final round. Desperation makes for more goals Uruguay proves my point.
Keyofx
But he goes beyond the goals too. Boring in general.
Nemo
oh fiddlesticks.. people just look for reasons to bitch about. the cup is going fine, the horns aside, african sparkle to the world cup has made it unique. As always, the cup will begin to get interesting once the knock outs start.
