DevilsOwn
Steve "umbrella' mclaren > capello??? In which world. Its just that this bunch of England players are way over-rated as a group. And just no manager has the balls to drop lampard/gerrard/terry/rooney
Cyborg
The Germans stood out tonight, I really want to see the Argentine defense do better tonight against Mexico otherwise it would be torn apart by the Germans. Their counter attacking is lethal. The Argentines should be careful against the Mexicans aswell, some early goals are essential tonight. I hope Veron does not start tonight and the defense is more alert.

And just no manager has the balls to drop lampard/gerrard/terry/rooney Lampard & Gerrard are quality players...they always perform no matter how bad the team plays. (especially Gerrard) So you can't blame the manager to not drop them...as for Terry well he was the only good defender in England's squad....I'll still say that him & Ferdinand could've made any team sweat, but without a good defender to play alongside him.... he can't do sh*t. devil_angel
I agree with sam ...... Milner was the stand out! Fabio should've substituted whiney rooney!
Mel81x
+1 to the Veron comment. He just gives the ball away and is slow on that pitch. The Defensive line for Argentina is a huge concern too and if they get trippy in their meeting with Germany (assuming they make it there of course) then we are going to see both sides playing some very fast paced football but GER > ARG when it comes to Defence. Did you see how quickly Freidrich moved the ball in the box when Dafoe almost came charging in? Even Lahm is good so very tough line to break. Not in a 4-4-2. Just leaves no one to make those important through balls

Lampard played inspirational football tonight, he gave it his all. Gerard was good-ish aswell. So yea I see no reason to why they should have been dropped from the starting line-up. Milner should not have been subbed aswell as he was playing rather good before being subbed. The english defense was worse than any other team I have seen this world cup, they were outrun, outclassed and totally won over by the speed of the germans. Wayne Rooney looked like a baby elephant who has not been fed for weeks and was the same as he was in the last three matches. Defoe did try his luck. England as a team looked really tired and out of sorts and frankly they didn't deserve to win. However, if the second goal was awarded to Lampard and the game would have been put in the balance, I will go as far as saying that the result might have been different. : |
Cyborg
Why is Gomez even in the team? He never does ANYTHING does he? He makes sure that once Germans have the match in their kitty, their star players can be taken off the field to ensure their availability for the next match

HundredProofSam
The english defense was worse than any other team I have seen this world cup I don't think so. At least their defence didn't allow a through pass on goal from a throw in. peace
Cyborg
Also, wtf is that Emile Heskey guy about? He's a fkking giant but I hardly get to see him in action and whenever I do, I just find him falling and tripping over like a little girl by tackles made by opponents half his size. Seriously, Good for all of us that England's out, there are far better teams in this World Cup. :-/

We are talking about this World Cup though. Watching Italy concede three is painful. It's unheard of even against the top teams. They didn't deserve to go through. Then again, neither did England. peace
