Possible Codename: Kingdoms artwork surfaces

Back in June at the E3 Expo, Microsoft took the stage to announce a new title, titled Codename: Kingdoms, to be developed in collaboration with Crytek.

The game also got its first showing, in the form of a small teaser trailer. Since then news has been relatively quiet, however, it’s possible that’s just changed.

A batch of concept art from a previous Crytek employee has been posted up online, showing what may be some of the first artwork for the game. The artwork in question comes from the portfolio of Maciej Kuciara, who previously worked at Crytek as an Art Director on “unannounced projects”.

Crytek Kingdoms to outperform Crysis 2 on consoles

Xbox 360 exclusive to outperform Crysis 2 on consoles

Crytek is known for pushing hardware like few companies can, it's with that knowledge that plenty of gamers are looking to see if Crysis 2 lives up to the hype on both the PS3 and Xbox 360. While Crysis 2 is already shaping up to be graphically stellar, Crytek CEO Cervat Yerli, is betting that Xbox 360 exclusive Kingdoms will be the title to really show off what a console can do with the power of the Cry Engine 3.

Microsoft said last year that it expects Kinect to help extend Xbox 360's lifespan to at least 2015, but Yerli's told CVG he thinks mysterious Xbox 360 exclusive Kingdoms can max out the console's capabilities before then.

"I think when we put Crysis 2 out we will show a level that is, multiplatform-wise, maxing out, but we will look into with Microsoft how Kingdoms can push the Xbox 360 110 percent, to its limits," he said.

When you're spending a multimillion budget only on the Xbox 360, that team will be able to crank out the last two or three percent left in the console. But I think that two or three percent will make the difference potentially between day and night that you cannot afford if you go multiplatform"
