reaper Posted August 2, 2008 Author Report Share Posted August 2, 2008 why dont you install linux on the working ps3 and then transfer that HDD to the dead ps3,maybe it'll work this dosnt work ... when u swap the HDD, it asks you to format the swapped disc .. Suhas Posted August 6, 2008 Report Share Posted August 6, 2008 Try these things: 1) try running linux with a pendrive - http://www.ps3grid.net/live.php . you need at least 1 GB pen drive. It is very less feature. I think you can upgrade it or something. 2) If the motor is working, try Cleaning the lens with disc cleaner or something. 3) If you have warranty, get it fixed. 4) Throw it to me I think the linux thingy might work.
