E3 Puts Microsoft In #1 Spot For Holidays, 360/kinect Outselling Rivals

The E3 convention is all about promoting and selling your products to the consumer. Every year, each company takes the stage to show the entire world what they have in store. Deciding who had the best conference is just a matter of personal choice; for a company to really win E3 they need to be the ones who convinced the most people to buy their products.

Online retailers are often a good source to calculate how products stand against each other after the convention is over. If sales are the determining factor to compare who did a better job selling their product, then Microsoft is leading the bunch at this year’s E3. Below you can see how E3 affected positively & negatively each console after the convention week was over

Microsoft’s products debuted with the biggest sales after E3, followed by Nintendo, and Sony in last place. Keeping in mind that this type of conventions are targeted for public of all ages, Microsoft was the one to penetrate the most households and generated the biggest purchase intent among gamers. Nintendo’s hardware & software dropped down some spots from their earlier chart positions. Sony’s Move sales are surprisingly in last place, even though it offers the cheapest motion controller alternative. There are two ways to decide how an E3 conference can be won, as a gamer or as a company. Gamers might argue who showed the best games and what they wanted to see, but for a company to win E3 is about who gets the most household sales and who doesn’t.

Certainly, you would expect this new model to boast a longer lifespan compared to earlier models/versions that were plagued by the dreaded RROD (and other issues). For those that have yet to pick up an Xbox 360, this might be the right version/combo (Wi-Fi, 250GB) to take the plunge...

Ok so Move is 49$ and extra sub-controller is 30$.... total 80$...that just for 1 guy...now for two players you have to buy 1 more Move and sub-controller total = 160$....Sub-controller is important to move your character in games like Socery nd all...

So for head to head two player gaming Move will cost 160$ ..ahahhha .....Add PS Eye camera...it makes it even more expensive

Where as with Kinect 3 players can play simultaneously without any extra controller for 149$...

KINECT 149$ price still not confirmed tho.....We are still waiting for official confirmation....Retailers expect a drop in price but right now they are selling it for 149$ only

MS was ahead of sony if when they didnt offer features like wifi/better reliability and 250GB HD which sony has offered forever. Now that they are offering these with the new 360 - they are going to own sony. All sony has is 3d but 3dtvs are too expenssive...

Kinect for Xbox 360 Innovates While the PS Move is Just a Wii HD

Kinect has taken Microsoft’s motion-controller from a distant second place in the buzz world to number one after being displayed yesterday at Microsoft’s E3 presentation to the public. Many people had written off the Kinect (at the time Project Natal) as nothing more than an updated version of the old interactive webcams from the 90’s or more recently the Playstation EyeToy.

After seeing the device in action with several different titles, it looks like Microsoft has done a lot more than just provided an updated take on old tech. The Xbox 360 Kinect might just revolutionize video games and how we view their integration into our entire home theatre. For example the voice-recognition on display during an announcement that ESPN would be exclusively added to the Xbox 360 showed how Kinect could open the door for more brands and channels to appear on the 360 and basically just made any form of remote antiquated technology. You control what you’re watching with your voice.

Sony’s Move will succeed thanks to a great marketing team, but after the display Microsoft put on, a lot of minds just changed. Sony has gone from the next big thing in motion controls to merely High-Def Wii. Meanwhile Microsoft has shown they can do a lot more than mimic and improve; they can create and lead.

I sure hope Microsoft makes some games to keep all those buyers happy. Been reading a few E3 impressions from various sites and the consensus is that besides Dance Central, every game they showed sucked wrt motion control implementation.

Yeah we already know that casual gamers outnumber us hardcore gamers by..100000 to 1 so you didnt need a source for that.Furthermore this is hardly an advantage for kinetic as it's games suck to the core's core

But how did I forget people like you dig Kinectimals since it is obviously a 360 exclusive

I dont have a source for this but I do have a very good

Anti- source

Quitly salutes Krackchap for the vid :O

By the way this is the second time he's quoting something without a source. We all know how easy it is to write something within the quote tags.

I say a 7 + 3 day ban if he doesnt give the source in 5 hrs? (This discission is upto the mods ofcourse) and I wouldnt mind a permanent ban either that's what he deserves

I appeal though I cant tolerate non sourced crape

^^For what?

Geez some really petty people here. You wanna ban him for being a fanboy? You do realize if we started doing that not one of you would be allowed as well. Get a f**king grip.
