Not an HD related query, but nevertheless.

I stopped using my DishTV connection as I switched to Videocon. The DishTV is a prepaid connection, I've simply stopped recharging. Is there any need to "close" or "disconnect" it, or should I simply let it be. The STB is never powered on nowadays.

what is the difference between minimum balance levels and validity ? I have airtel connection that shows validity till 28 april 2013 but am getting calls and sms that balance is over (its is 0.35 rs) so they have cut the connection. Have 3 connections (one dish) on with 2 have been stopped by airtel while one is going strong.

dish connection is not supposed to be like phone bills which go up/down as per usage. Dish has a fixed rate for a month where you use it as much you like, is not it ?

we had recharged the connection for 12 month period last year- which would be shown by the validity period. from where did this minimum balance thing came ?

please enlighten me so i can deal with Airtel accordingly.

yeah, fail-tel indeed. went to the local airtel kiosk and the guy there said the same thing. havent bothered to inquire further as the tv in mom's room is working fine and off late she is the only one who watches- some news and one soap. Had one installed in guest room for nani and she has for now went to her ancestral place. I have long stopped watching tv (internet-laptop ).

My callous nature towards TV is something airtel retards are taking unscrupulous advantage off :ranting:

And grammar died a natural death.

well first of all one never starts a sentence with a conjunction (And) so right when it comes of pristine grammar, so right of the bat your authority as a grammar nazi has as much credence as pakistan lamenting on world terrorism.

moreove, the only grammatical error i can see in my words up there is the use of a 'dangeling participle', and mixing of present perfect and simple past in 'has went'. both of which while not perfect queen's english are acceptable colloquial parlance and are far less nefarious than tenses, quantifiers errors or mixing up pronouns, prepositions and verbs.. so that's that.

in any case, language is supposed to evolve with and for humans, not the other way around. if we are to follow militant rigidity 80% of any one's daily usage would be rendered as incorrect as it would not conform with the acceptable usage in the days of Chaucer when he penned down te first ever literary work in English.

get off the high horse sirji.
