Ei8t
Hollywood Movies in HD MUMBAI: Entertainment on Indian television for the urban set just got more addictive. The Times Television Network is about to launch MOVIES NOW. The channel will kick off with an irresistible line-up of Hollywood blockbusters: Die Hard 4 and X-Men are just two of the names on the launch line-up. Movies NOW will be positioned very uniquely in the English film space in India: it will bring Hollywood's biggest blockbusters to Indian viewers in high definition, for the first time ever. "MOVIES NOW will give its viewers a whole new experience with stunning pictures in 1080i and awesome 5.1 surround sound. Viewers will get to watch the best of 'Hollywood in HD' for the first time in India," said Vineet Jain, managing director of Bennett Coleman & Company , which owns the Times Group . Sunil Lulla, managing director and chief executive officer of Times Television Network, added, "It provides great entertainment, blockbusters and the finest movies that we know most Indians love to watch. It'll be all the action, all the comedy, all the fast chases and all the drama packaged together." A tie-up with the biggest Hollywood studios and a strong commitment to a superlative viewing experience with high definition, give MOVIES NOW its unique edge over competition. The channel will be available on direct-to-home (DTH) platforms throughout the country and will successfully bring the multiplex experience right into your living room. High definition is not just a treat to the eyes, its better for them. The format packs in about five times more pixels on screen compared to standard definition. Even if you don't watch television on a plasma, LCD or LED TV your viewing experience will be much better than Standard Definition Content. For the Times Television network, this is the first foray into the larger advertising pool beyond English and business news. The English movie category in Indian television is worth around `600 crore, with advertising and subscription revenue combined. "There is great synergy between the audiences of Times Now and ET Now. And now there will be greater synergy between the three channels," said Mr Lulla. With this new launch, the Times Television network offers a complete proposition to the viewer: 24 hour news, stocks and business advice to make people's money grow, finest Bollywood entertainment and now Hollywood entertainment .
