^^ just dont rush through the game.. take your time to explore ever area fully and always spend 10-15 mins on taming familiars near the lvl boss save point.. this is the best way to lvl up and you wont even feel the need to do any grinding later on. Only some of the recipes require grinding (for rare items) otherwise even the post game quests can be done at your own pace :)

Completed all errands and the post game bounty hunts. After claiming the last bounty hunt I got 8 more bounty hunts, just read online that the true boss of this game unlocks once you hunt and claim the 2nd set of post game bounty hunts. Will do that today.. :)

Lol some of his lines are fking gems.. felt like taking pics of them while playing.. even the ones without any voice acting..

Hell, I even liked grinding in this game :giggle:

Totally agree about some of his lines.

I left my game after I couldn't defeat the true boss on the first try, maybe I'll try again :fear:

Even I love grinding in this game.. the battle system never gets old.. and there is always a chance of taming a new familiar which makes everything even more exciting.. all the familiars have 1-6% taming rates so your never gonna get all the familars of a paritcular area within 1 run of that area anyway..

Agreed, and having a familiar of a different sign or a double sign is even more enticing. Them double-planet ones

Dinoceros is a beast though :fear:

Just killed the true boss and finally cleared the solosseum rank S round..

True boss was fine.. managed to kill him on the first try.. got a golden orb right when my health fell below 10hp :P

S rank round however was a major pain in the a*s.. all because of the stupid fking AI.. they always steal the green and blue glims even if you command them to just defend.

After running out of MP in the last wave of Rank S and losing 5 times got an idea and set the AI commands to 'dont do anything' got both Esther and Swaine killed in the 1st wave  then i kept using Olivers magic and collected all the glims myself whenever they appeared.. took me like 15 mins to clear that last golden familiar trio round but managed to clear it finally.. :)

AI is good otherwise.. its just annoying in the solosseum series cuz you can't use items.

Yup he is hands down the best familiar in the game.. taming him took ages though :P also he lvls up super slowly and his max lvl is jus lvl 24. (Still attack of almost 600 is fking epic, Mitteys attack at lvl 99 is 280  )

Just platinum'd this.. prettiest trophy icons ever.. plat trophy has mr.drippy on its icon

Have to say this is by far the most techincally sound rpg ive ever played.. didnt experience a single glitch or crash during my 78hrs with the game..

The only trophy that requires some grinding (like 4hrs if you were harvesting/stealing stuff and making recipes regularly throughout the game) is that 90% recipes done trophy.. the 250 familiars one is also the most time consuming trophy but since i was playing through this game normally and doing all errands i had about 230 familiars tamed by the end of the story.. got the remaining 20 while grinding for the recipe items.. :P

Bc what an epic game.. :majesty: my last ps3 game.. :sadbye: heard ni no kuni 2 is in dev for ps4.. :wOOtjumpy:

Any source on Ni No Kuni 2 - I am currently playing this game. Enjoying it a lot. Love the animation and style of the character. A lot of text but I am really loving the game. Wish I had the companion book while playing.

Enjoy the present Sir

Even I missed the physical companion book but the in-game one was pretty nice too.

Deciphering the Horace riddles and all

  • 2 weeks later...

Finish the game couple of days back....i started again after abhinit and raghav praised it and honestly i think had it not been because of their advice to use dinocerous as familar i would have still been bit irritated at this game because it really is quite hard and much less rewarding in terms of time you put in grinding ....In many rpgs if you grind early on and keep up the pace you basically meet the challenges in games fairly if not easily but in this game it really is very awkardly balanced but having said that it does remain quite challenging.

Other things about this game i noticed there is so many spells you still dont get to use in the entire game...i read on google you cannot use many spells even if you get it in the game ...i just dont get it why they would do this.

Overall though game i quite good and it was unfair of me to miss other good points of the game which was beautiful world...cute story and quite light at heart .

Yeah the difficulty is random.. You never know just how much grinding is enough. Fortunately since I was going for all familiars I never experienced any serious difficulty spikes :)

BTW I still hum the theme song every now and then randomly :fear: theme is so awesome :P

And yeah tons of spells are just wizard book entries. I got scared midway when I couldn't see a bunch of spells in my menu, thought my game got glitched or something :P

It feels pointless to add unusable spells in the wizard book at first but dunno later on for some reason I enjoyed reading their entries and just receiving them in general even though they weren't there in the game..

I just completed mornstar wand.. and i feel like Im seriously under leveled. Im only lvl 38. Im using stupid tactics like running in circles and blocking at right movement, to defeat bosses. Couldnt defeat them normally most of the times. I was doing some bounties and errands but they arnt helping as they dont give XP, also upgraded good gear for familiars and all. Im only underleveled. Is there a way to level up fast?

I just watched a yt walktrough and she was lvl 58 at this point :O

Game is really does not let you feel powerful at any given point.....Do what i did to make it little easier...I use familiar like dinocerous ..it is pretty damn good.

Other than that....what also helped was using that stamp card and activating the last one which add 100 mp and hp to your character's HP and mp.

side missions are important because of the merit rewards so don't ignore them because they don't give any extra xp :P

also while you are doing a side quest you are bound to run into battles/bounty hunts int the same area so they help in levelling up indirectly.. if you still wanna just skip a ton of the grinding then tame a dino and battle tokotokos with it.. killing 1 tokotko gives you 8k xp, if you find two of them together you will get 16k xp.. i used this tokotoko grinding method for the 250 familiar trophy as i had a tons of familiars who hadn't evolved to their final form.. i had 180 familiars at the end of the game so i just used this method and evolved 30/40 of my 2nd lvl familiars into their final forms.. took me like 2hrs :P

here's the best method for that tokotoko grinding method

just make sure that you kill the tokotoko asap otherwise it will run away.. and use this to grind before the final boss as well if you are not at least lvl 60 IMO :)
