dylanjosh
I bought my 360 a year ago, but I connected XBL just today.. it connected just fine. It asked me to create an account. So I did. Then it asked me to create a GT. So I did. After account created and 1 month free XBL gold activated, i check my gamercard and its completely empty it says 0 GS and no games played.. But I've played tons of games and my GS is 7k. Is there any way I can link my two profiles? How do I create an account with my original profile? (because XBox signs you out as soon as you click on XBL)
Karooo
recover gamertag?
jDaMn
But recover gamertag won't work for an entirely offline profile if it has never uploaded to Live. I don't get why he was asked to create an account... shouldn't he only have had to select a gamertag?

rahul
Did you play all those games before this on an offline account? Cuz XBL would never allow for a GT to be created on Live if it exists already. (duh!)
dylanjosh
But everytime I click on XBL it signs me out. @Rahul - Yeah

shockwave
OK I've never been into similar situation (though I always wondered how it'd work) but my guess is that you have created an entirely new GT (even if it has the same name as offline) with XBL. There's no way it will show you 0 GS otherwise. Think of it like this: For the past 1 year you have been playing with an offline GT called "Bagpipes". While you never signed into XBL with that GT, I created a GT with the same name and connected to Live which therefore grants me rights to use it as is (since I am the one who registers it on Live first.) You can continue playing with your GT with the name unchanged for offline play. But of course once you finally decide to go online then you have to change it (because I am already using it) or create another (which you wouldn't since you'd want your GS to be carried over.) So in the above example, both the persons is you. Meaning, you created a new account with the same name, and because you didn't sign in/register using your old (offline) GT, Live recognizes the new creation as the only one. I am not sure if I am right though. Because ideally it should automatically prompt you to choose an existing GT (if you have one offline, which you do) to connect to Live. And even if you registered it as a new GT, it shouldn't sign you out from your old GT when you attempt to sign in. That's pretty strange.
Dark_Knight
I think you have created a new account by mistake... Otherwise it should automatically link all your achievements... Just use this GT for a month till the Gold expires and then create an XBL account with your old account which has all the achievements...
dylanjosh
When I'm not signed in at all and I want to sign in, it shows me 2 profiles, one with the offline GT and the new one. So should I delete the new id after the GOLD expires? And then create another one?

That 1 month live u cant use in the offline GT, so just play in the new id for a month then refill the old one, you made a mistake. I don't think u can merge both ids if thats what ur trying to say. Just make sure you sign into live with your offline GT after a month. You should get a month free for that too! And I hope you know that all your achievements/GS will be added to this new profile when you are playing with it.
Cash
Same thing happened to me like 3years ago. after your 1 month just sign in your offline id and then join xbox live maybe they will say there's already a account so you just have to edit your account name(offline) and then go and connect to xbox live. Noctis
Yeah, happened to me too. But decided to stick with it as I connected to live soon and the the first one had just a few gs.
