robbie
hi guys, i'm looking for a gaming laptop which can play hd movies, can act as a desktop-replacement, and with good battery life and of course, provide good gaming performance.. I'm assuming that these will be able to play 1080p with ease with no hiccups.. after trolling on the net and in the forums, i have found the following models with good ratings: Asus N61JV Acer Aspire 5740G HP DV6-3043TX budget is around 45k and can be extended to 50k, if there is a good reason.. need to buy it asap, so waiting for some quick suggestions.. Choron ka raja
Acer aspire is good. Make sure to customise it to your needs, if possible. Also, check Dell studio site. Don't buy Dell inspiron though, that one is too cheap in terms of quality.
playstationdude
Even im looking for a gaming laptop. But after much research i have concluded that if you want serious gaming your notebook needs to atleast have nvidia GTS360M.So if you wanna buy a gaming laptop within 50k you need to source it from the states.Im doing the same and for 1199$ i have found a pretty kickass laptop MSI E740 which can practically play any game(core i7,Ati Radeon 5870). From what ive gatered decent aming laptops cost >90K in india.

Infinity091
Bro check out the Msi website.Or check out my link on the last page in Gaming pc thread. Okay the Msi website is really confusing and they have different names for their laptops depending on the region. Anyway I checked out the US site and I found the E740 though it doesn't have an i7 processor it has an i5 and also it is for 1299 according to the site. http://www.msimobile.com/level2_productlist.aspx?id=6 But still a very good laptop. And it's definitely worth the price.

Infinity091
^ Okay. It's definitely a good buy. Also hackboy is importing a laptop an option for you? If not then the laptops you've found seem fine and should give you decent gaming performance and you will be able to play all games on medium settings. Joy
Get a laptop which has a native resolution of 1366x768 , so u can play most games on max or atleast games like Crysis on high even with a ATI M 5650 or 5850 GPU. Acer 5740G is the best cheap gaming laptop atm , comes with a i5 and a 5650 for well below 40k , u can't beat that. then there is Sone E series , HP DV series and Dell Studio and XPS for u to look at. AFAIK a 5650 will run Crysis at about 30 fps on high setting so you'll probably have to play it on medium settings. But apart from Crysis and a few other games the 5650 will be able to run everything on high.

But dude whatever you buy and from wherever do check out the heat emissions from the laptop because the laptops with good GPU emit a lot of heat. You might wanna check out Notebookcheck.com.They have covered practically every laptop graphic card and almost every laptop.
robbie
^^ will keep that in mind but tbh, overheating is not really a problem for me as long as it doesn't conflict with its performance.. or will buy a lappy cooler.. also, any member in usa or coming from usa can help me out, better to give that guy a special treat than to pay the custom guys.. Yeah even i felt that overheating was no prob but then i read that it considerably affects performance and the life of the laptop(your laptop may even expire if it gets heated up too much). Also if anybody could tell me whether cooling pads help to keep the laptop cool INTERNALLY i would be more than grateful. robbie
^^ if that's right, than i've heard that the acer one do get overheats a lot.. though hp don't have that kinda reputation of overheating if it's the intel proccy model.. i will, anyways check the website you've mentioned but i'm waiting right now for if i can get one from usa.. if not, i'll buy the hp one.. or the acer, if low on budget..
