Noctis
From your description it looks like a problem with the disc not going in properly and not a sod. My PS3 stopped reading discs a few months ago in a similar way, but later found out its got something to do with the disc going in/spinning and it got corrected after a few days. Around a week back it got stuck again and is not taking in any discs anymore. Not bothering to fix it now since I don't have any time, but when I tried for a bit it did read the disc before getting stuck again, further confirming its not a sod. Your case sounds too similar to mine and you could probably fix it by opening the ps3 and checking the drive. Would be a waste to sell it off if its not an actual sod/ylod. scath
Ohh.well yes even I was surprised yesterday when the PS3 absolutely refused to accept anything and now suddenly its accepting everything but not reading Blu-Rays. and cool then,Ill open it up today and check if there's any non SOD problem. Noctis
ok, realized this is a problem with firmware update killing the BD drive. http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Tec...le/td-p/9146012 http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Tec...ng/td-p/9029207 Check these and several other threads on the net, seems to be the same case here. So I don't recommend replacing the blu ray lens as that could be completely useless in this case.

Release any residual power from PS3 by removing all cables n then hold power button for 30 sec approx n then update firmware thro Usb nd it shud solve ur problm
