Noctis
TS muxer doesn't work well in many cases and often comes up with many errors. Mkv2vob is the best option for conversion, or stream with ps3 media server.
Joy
Yeap Mkv2vob is the best there is , its a freeware as well. Just turn off encoding in options window , select mpg or mp4 , and it will just mux it , i.e convert DTS audio to AC3 in a couple of minutes. Another thing if the file is bigger than 4GB , enable split file option , movie will be divided into two parts so u can put it on PS3 HDD or a pen drive formatted in FAT32. Well that's exactly where TsMuxer has trouble. Cos some files come with DTS Audio. Which is why on my post in the blog I have reiterated that you'll have to externally convert the audio to AC3. Guess MKV2vob does the entire process for you. I have MKV2VOB on my pc, but doesn't it transcode stuff by default? And if you turn transcoding off then you can't get videos of a higher profile level down to 4.1 or below to play unless you transcode them. In that respect, I prefer not to transcode my vids and lose any quality, and in tsMuxer I can do that by just choosing a lower profile.
Noctis
I believe it automatically lowers the level. Either way I have tested it at high settings and quality wasn't affected. Maybe the lower quick convert option affects it.

NuTkRaCkeR9
is there a way to copy the big vob file to your ps3 . without splitting ? directly from the computer ?
theneurotoxin
Ps3 detects FAT32 formatted drives only.So you will need to split your file into less than 4gb parts.
Bulovski
mkv2vob does splitting also i think.

Dr.Hojay
yeap .+1 to Mkv to vob - is excellent. if you want to re encode - get total video converter ( not free though - but is rock solid )
mixke
if you want to re encode - get total video converter ( not free though - but is rock solid ) Any idea how much time does re-encoding takes on an average? I've a few MKVs that are not playing perfectly on PS3 after converting them to some other extension/container (mp4, vob, m2ts). The resolution for these is 1280 x 534 I believe and they are playing slowly/lagging a little on PS3. However, they run fine through PS3 Media Server which I don't want to use
Noctis
Why do you want to re encode? Just remux it and it works perfectly even at 1080p.

Can you please explain a little more as in what to use, which options to choose etc? :( I've tried to convert MKVs to vob/mp4/m2ts with mkv2vob but a few MKVs are not playing perfectly on PS3. (tried playing them through pen drive and PS3 hard disk, no luck)
